Continuing with the booster we peered into last
week, I picked some cards for this week.
Seemed appropriate to stay and start with a Synchro,
so here it is, in Hi-Speedroid Chanbara. It's
only Lvel 5, and Wind is always a bit odd, but it is
a Machine. 2000 attack (and the 1000 defense) are
again, rather low. But Machines are well
supported, and it's an easy enough Synchro Summon
with a Tuner and one or more non-Tuner Monsters.
But it does some neat things. It can make two
attacks during the Battle Phase. The coolest
part about this effect is it doesn't say anything
about them having to be consecutive attacks, or they
can't be direct. Simply, it can make two
attacks. Second, it gains 200 attack at the
start of the Damage Step. When it Battles, so
attacking or attacked, which is good. The
increase is negligible, but at 2000 attack it all
helps.
The last effect I feel is the winner for the Deck
though. Once a turn you can add a removed from
play Speedroid card back to your Hand. That's
a very quick, and very useful effect in the Archtype,
and the fact this guy is so easy to bring out only
adds to the ease of that effect.

Hi-Speedroid Chanbara
Kind of slow since all of its effect happen during
and after the Battle Phase. The fact that it
can do 4000 damage directly (or can destroy 2
monsters) for a Level 5 Synchro makes it worthwhile
for some decks.

Welcome to another week of reviews. Hi-Speedroid
Chanbara is a Level 5 Wind Machine-type Synchro
monster with 2000 Atk and 1000 Def. I don't have a
problem with the stats. The entire set is trying to
bring Synchros to the forefront, and having a
monster that can OTK is great.
The first effect is easy. This is one of the biggest
natural double attackers in the game. By that I
mean, this card can attack twice for free with a
nice 2000 Atk. With Limiter Removal, that could mean
game over for the opponent. Going out of order, the
final effect is that Hi-Speedroid Chanbara can only
be Special Summoned once per turn. I find it
interesting that the card text put an s in
parenthesis. Is there a way to summon multiple H-Sroid
Chanbaras? That answer is yes; with Soul Charge.
However, you wouldn't be able to attack on that
turn, but the next turn should mean you win.
There are more effects to get to with H-Sroid
Chanbara. The next 2 effects are a mix of offense
and defense. This card gains 200 Atk when it does
battle with anything, including direct. That boost
is nice, but hardly worth bragging about. That it is
there does help to put the hurt on the opponent
because activating effects during the Damage Step is
difficult to chain to. Lastly, if this card is sent
to the Graveyard (from anywhere) you can get a
banished Speedroid card to your hand. I'm sure there
are some decent Speedroid Spell or Trap cards to
consider. It can even target itself with this
effect, though it would be sent back to the Extra
Deck.
This card does a lot. I'm tempted to give this a
higher rating, but it really depends on the support
that roids, speedroids, and now hi-speedroids have
access to. It is absolutely necessary for roids.

Hmmm. As much as I love the look of this card, I
really can't say much more positivity about it.
Sure, being able to attack twice in one turn is
great, but at only 2200 ATK, that's not a great
boost. Especially if you're going up against bigger
monsters. Then there's its second effect, which
could be more useful if you're running Hi-Speedroids
that have a tendancy of being removed from play. But
other than that, this is one Synchro you can skip.
Final Score: 2/5
