Stardust Spark Dragon closes the week, mirroring the original, minus being a Light Monster in this instance, but everything else remains the same.  This card could be useful if we still in a Synchro flavored era.  But the key problem here is that it pales in comparison SO much to the original Stardust Dragon, there's less than zero reason to use this card.  The name is appropriate, as the effect here is merely a breath of what the original is capable of.  Plus, in addition to the singular protect effect, you lose any and all resurrection that came with Stardust Dragon.  It just isn't here folks

Finishing out the week we've got Stardust Spark Dragon. Same as Stardust for the most part, LIGHT instead of WIND lend it better support. However, instead of negating and destroying a card that tried to destroy something, then Special Summoning itself, SSD allows for immunity to one card for the turn. Quick effect gives you the option to save any card from destruction and cause your opponent to lose a card, but negation is better. Also, SSD doesn't have Starlight Road to help Special Summon it.
 
SSD is good, and there are some fun combos with other stuff like Black Rose and Scrap Dragon to do, but Stardust is better to play.

I do love Light monsters, but this one is just average. Stardust Spark Dragon is a Level 8 Light Dragon-type Synchro monster with 2500 Atk and 2000 Def. I do believe Light is better than Wind in most decks. Being a generic Synchro makes it a good option for decks that run tuners.

There is only one effect, and it is similar but different from Stardust Dragon. Stardust Dragon tributes itself and destroys the problem card to protect multiple cards on the field from destruction and then comes back during the End Phase. Stardust Spark Dragon doesn't tribute itself to protect one card one time from destruction by battle or effect. Both effects can be done during either players' turn. One plus for Sparky is that Phantom of Chaos can copy this effect better than the regular one. In general, I would just go with regular Stardust Dragon.
