Jigabyte
- #SECE-EN034 You can only control 1 "Jigabyte". If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 monster with 1500 ATK and 200 DEF from your Deck, except "Jigabyte".

This little Water monster has of late become quite
the popular monster, I of more recent times have
quite often been asked as to if I have any spare
copies of Jigabyte for trading.
The main reason for this little guys increase in
play is that it not only helps Clown Blade create
early plays that would otherwise be much harder to
achieve, but it sees a small amount of play in some
Shaddoll variants.
Additionally, this card is searchable from the Deck
via King of the Feral Imps, is that all important
Level 4 and because it’s a Water-type monster, can
be used to increase the base attack of Abyss Dweller
if used as an Xyz material for it.
While this is an important little “Tech” monster, it
is actually very hard to say a lot about it since
how you use it is really so simple, if this is your
only monster, you Summon/ Set it and then as long as
your opponent destroys it, you’ll be able to Special
Summon from your Deck a Nefarious Archfiend Eater of
Nefariousness or Inari Fire, or if you control a
Spellcaster monster, you can Special Summon this
straight from your hand.
The only minor inconvenience with this card is that
you can only ever control 1 “Jigabyte” at a time,
but since you’ll likely be Xyz’ing with it, this is
a pretty easy issue to overcome.
Rating: 3.
Handy “Tech” card for Decks that run a sufficient
amount of Spellcasters.

Jigabyte (much like the Blackwing we reviewed
yesterday) is very good theme support, in this case,
for Reptiles, and it's own family. Working
well in either, or both. You can only control
one Jigabyte, which might seem silly, and I agree to
a point. It prevents swarming, if you lost
three in Battle in the same Battle Phase, you'd get
three appropriate replacements. Those being
another Monster (ANY Monster) so long as it has 1500
atk and 200 def like this guy. OH but wait,
you get said effect if Jigabye is destroyed by card
effect also. It doesn't matter who destroys it
either, but remember, it must go to the Graveyard.
If all this wasn't enough, it can be Special
Summoned from your Hand if you control a Spellcaster.
Great card

Hello Pojo Fans,
Jigabyte is best used in connection with Nefarious
Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness and Inari Fire, as
all revolve around Spellcaster-Type monsters and
Special Summon in roughly the same way. Jigabyte can
search Nefarious and Inari, while you can use
Nefarious to destroy Jigabyte to Special Summon
itself, then search and Special Summon Inari.
Special Summons are good, but none of these three
monsters are Spellcaster-Type monsters, and, as tech
choices go, there are better Special Summon monsters
to add to a deck (BLS). Jigabyte can't search a copy
of itself, but can Special Summon Inari or
Nefarious, again, better choices for monsters that
can Special Summon.

Continuing with Level 4 week we have Jigabyte. I
believe my review for King of the Feral Imps should
go up slightly because Jigabyte is a Reptile-type
monster worth getting with King's effect. The rest
of Jigabyte's stats are a Level 4 Water monster with
1500 Atk and 200 Def. 1500 Atk always reminds me of
the die-by-battle searchers, in this case Mother
Grizzly, but I don't see that making a comeback
anytime soon.
I'm glad this card has 2 effects. The first effect
is that if you control a Spellcaster-type monster,
you can Special Summon Jigabyte from your hand. You
can only control 1 Jigabyte to keep from spamming,
but easy Level 4 Special Summons are great. The
second effect is to Special Summon any monster with
1500 Atk and 200 Def from the deck when Jigabyte is
destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. You can't get
another Jigabyte which really limits this effects
usefulness. There aren't many monsters that fit such
strict criteria, but it's better than nothing.
Score: 3.5/5 Atk is a bit low for Level 4 and the
second effect's summon list is small.
Art: 3/5 I'm not sure why he is being electrocuted.
It makes sense with the name, I guess. If anything,
I would want a Spellcaster in the image supporting
Jigabyte.

Jigabyte
Ah, another chapter in the Gagagigo series reveals
itself. For those of you who don't know, this
Monster actually has a story to tell along with
Freed the Brave Warrior. Here we see him in his
adult stage prior to the cybernetic enhancements.
His ability to be Special Summoned when you have a
Spellcaster on the field is actually a nod to the
story; apparently Freed is his best buddy.
In a way, Jigabyte is actually a step up from the
traditional searchers (Giant Rat, Mother Grizzly,
etc.), because he can get his search effect not just
in battle but also if he's destroyed via card
effect. However, the monster he is searching for is
VEEEEEEEEERY specific; 1500/200 only. I don't know
about you, but I can't name any monsters off the top
of my head that fit that criteria. So, he comes
close to being good.... but not close enough.
Final Score: 2/5
