It's like a Treeborn Frog with a burly 2200 ATK.  Yes, you can't Normal Summon or Set, but you can just spend your resources on Special Summons instead.  With piercing damage, it can punish.  The 500 damage effect (late game burn) requires a Machine monster, but it's the weakest of the bunch.  Since there aren't a lot of good rank 6's, this one is certainly an option for the decks that can make it.

I love Synchro Monsters. I am not sure why, and that bias won't show in this review. Hi-Speedroid Kendama is a Level 6 Wind Machine-type Synchro monster with 2200 Atk and 1600 Def. These are ok stats. There aren't a lot of generic Level 6 Synchro monsters that can replace themselves the way this one can and boast a decent Atk stat.

Kendama always has Piercing as it's continuous effect. I wish it had more Atk with that effect, but I'll live. Before or after piercing something you can either banish a machine in your Graveyard to inflict 500 points of Direct Damage or you can revive this from the Graveyard if you control no cards on your side of the field. The second effect comes with a no Normal Summon/Set clause, but that is to be expected. 500 Damage isn't going to be a huge factor, but it can help.

Score: 2.5/5 Graveyard effects are good.
Art: 2/5 Why is this Wind? It doesn't look fast to me.

Card: Hi-Speedroid Kendama

While Kendama may seem weak with only 2200 ATK, its peircing effect is nothing to sneeze at. And, unlike most Synchros, you can get it back to the field with its own effect (at the cost of not being able to Normal Summon or Set that turn). It also has a burn effect, but it seems useless in this day and age. Banishing a Machine for just 500 burn damage? I thought we were past the 90's.

Still, it's a fun card and fairly easy to summon with being a level 6. If I were running Machines, I'd try it out at least once.

Final Score: 3/5
