Trap Hole of Spikes
- #MIL1-EN022When an opponent's monster that was Normal or Special Summoned this turn declares an attack: Destroy that attacking monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the original ATK of that monster.

Trap Hole of Spikes
The original card was called Chasm of Spikes
(used by Joey Wheeler against Bandit Keith). It
originally did not have the restriction of the
monster needing to be Summoned this turn, but that
was added in making this a card Traptrix can use.
It's like a Sakuretsu Armor and a mini Magic
Cylinder put together, but both of those cards
aren't good anymore. For Battle Phase based removal,
you're better off with Dimensional Prison (it
banishes) or Mirror Force (clears swarms). Some
extra life point damage isn't worth running a slow
situational and bad card. It's a shame this really
old card didn't come out in 2003. Competitive
players back then would have been running it.

Here we have another compare card. Trap Hole of
Spikes is a Normal Trap Card that is instantly
compared to Magic Cylinder. Magic Cylinder negates
an attack and inflicts the opponent's monster's
attack as damage. Trap Hole of Spikes destroys the
attacking monster and inflicts half its original
attack as damage. However, Trap Hole of Spikes can
only destroy the monster if it was Normal or Special
Summoned the turn it declares an attack. While it
does work with Traptrix monsters, in general the
things with small attack points float when
destroyed, and the things with high attack points
can't be destroyed or targeted. I'd go with Magic
Cylinder to inflict more damage. Or there is that
Mirror Force card that inflicts damage and doesn't
target attack position monsters.
Score: 2/5 People don't run Cylinder either.
Art: 4/5 That's a mighty fine hole there. Hope Wile
E Coyote didn't dig it.

Trap Hole of Spikes
Terrible card. With a wealth of mirror force
variants at our disposal that aren’t even being
used, there’s no reason to run this. Even in
Traptrix decks, there’s an adequate amount of good
trap holes to use before this. And that’s not to
mention two more “hole” trap cards coming out in the
Dark Illusion.
If it had come out ten years ago? Maybe
