Floodgate Trap Hole
This just isn’t a good card. In a format where
players are finding all kinds of excuses to abandon
non-theme traps altogether, there’s nothing to like
about a card that doesn’t even remove monsters from
the field, even a card that’s searchable by Traptrix.
I won’t go into too much more detail. Don’t use this
card. Use better cards.

-
It's true that this card doesn't
destroy or banish like the other
Trap Holes do.
-
But it's important to still
recognize this card for its
benefits.
-
It works on any type of Summon, any
kind of monster and any number of
monsters.
-
It instantly negates the monster(s)
effects by flipping it face-down.
That's the most valuable part.
-
Think of it like a Breakthrough
Skill and Book of Moon combined.
-
The monsters effectively become
useless since they're flipped down
and can't get back up.
-
It's up to personal preference which
Trap Hole you prefer using, but
objectively speaking, it's a very
useful card.

Another easy review. Floodgate Trap Hole is the
Trap Hole version of Quaking Mirror Force. The
difference is their activation timings. Floodgate
Trap Hole is a Normal Trap Card that activates when
the opponent summons a monster or monsters. This
card turns those monsters to face-down Defense
position. Quaking Mirror Force does the same thing
when the opponent attacks turning all Attack
position monsters face-down. Both cards state that
the monsters turned down can't be changed. Run 2 of
each if your monsters have piercing. They don't
target, don't destroy, and are much cheaper than
Solemn cards for dealing with summons. These cards
also have the benefit of not giving the opponent
free draws at the end of the turn (Book of Eclipse).
Card of Demise decks will love this card against
pretty much everything.
Score: 4/5 Watch out for Twisters.
Art: 4/5 I hope the inevitable Fissure Trap Hole
doesn't correspond to Drowning Mirror Force.

Speaking of the Trap Hole family...Floodgate Trap
Hole...are we just out of names for Trap Hole cards,
how lame and uninspired. Let's see, when your
opponent Summons a Monster, (or Monsters), change
that Monster (again or Monsters) to face-down
Defense position. Monsters effected by this
card cannot change their Battle Position. This
is very interesting. Trap Hole cards as a general
rule of thumb usually destroy and/or remove Monsters
when Summoned in various ways. This one
doesn't. I feel that alone makes this card
undesirable. However, they are forced to
remain in the position they're put in, which does
make them easier to destroy. But as an old
friend, Creator of the Points System use to say, why
not simply destroy cards? Honestly, I do kinda
like the card. Obviously the best time to use
this is against a Monster (or swarm of Monsters)
that are powerful, especially given how many high
level and powerful Monsters have considerably lower
or weaker defenses then the attack they have.
But I just don't see this seeing much play, unless
you're playing an Aggro Aggressive Trample Deck or
something.
