Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster
- # BOSH-EN018This card's name becomes "Buster Blader" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. If a monster(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of those destroyed monsters; equip it to this card. Once per turn: You can send 1 Monster Card you control that is equipped to this card to the Graveyard; destroy all monsters your opponent controls with the same Type as that monster sent to the Graveyard.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Buster Blader got an upgrade and now is Buster
Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster. Same stats,
same everything, but now his effects are much
better.
Still considered “Buster Blader” lends him that
monsters inherited support, but now with the
“Destruction Swordsmaster” attached to his name, he
can be fetched by Buster Whelp of the Destruction
Swordsman.
When any of your opponents monsters gets destroyed
while this card is on your field, you can attach one
of them to this monster. With that attached monster,
you can detach and wipe out all your opponents
monsters that are that monsters Type. With so many
decks running the same Type, this effect is very
useful. While Nekroz wouldn't be hurt too greatly by
it, Burning Abyss, Shaddoll, Tellarknight, and Kozmo
all run one type or two dedicated types in the case
of Kozmos. There are three other “Destruction Sword”
monsters that can attach to this advanced Buster
Blader and make him even better.
Destruction is good, more support to make the
monster easier to summon is good, but it still needs
its own strategy to be most successful.

It's fun when old cards become decks. It's less
fun when those new decks can't compete with the
meta. Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordsmaster is
a Level 7 Earth Warrior-type monster with 2600 Atk
and 2300 Def. Buster Blader stats were only ever
good compared to Dark Magician's 2500 Atk. Nowadays,
Level 7 should be about 2700-2850. In any case, the
name is what makes this card searchable in its own
deck.
This is Buster Blader while on the Field or in the
Graveyard. That's not so much an effect as it is a
condition. Buster Blader, the Destruction
Swordmaster's real ability is to absorb one
opponent's destroyed monster as an equip card. There
is no once per turn clause on this, so if you
activate Fissure, Smashing Ground, and Raigeki, you
could equip 3 of your opponent's monsters so long as
they were on their way to the Graveyard. This new
deck has many other ways to equip monsters to Buster
Bladers, but this one is good to abuse against decks
that destroy their own cards. The final effect is to
send an equipped monster to the Graveyard to destroy
all opponent's monsters with the same type.
Tribe-Infecting Virus is still banned, but this
effect does the same thing at a cheaper cost. The
best part is that this last effect can trigger the
other effect to absorb more monsters as fuel for the
next turn. Unfortunately, this monster has no
inherent protection and a low Atk value. The deck as
a whole suffers from the fun but not viable
problem.
Score: 3/5
Art: 4.5/5 I wish I could jump that high.

Welcome back, Buster.
Truth be told, I still like the original BB for its
power boost, even though most people don't play
Dragon decks. But since this version could be the
bane of virtually ANY type your opponent plays, he's
much more useful. Plus, having multiple BBs in your
Grave or on the field opens up possibilities for
Fusions- not to mention he works well with his pet
Whelp/Destruction Sword. Yeah, I see potential for a
Buster Blader themed deck here. It's just a shame
it's nowhere near competitive in modern format.
Score: 3/5- the potential is there, but not strong
enough
