Hello Pojo Fans,

Chimeratech Rampage Dragon gives Cyber Dragon decks another weapon to use from the Extra Deck. Along with its other fusions, this one revolves around using “Cyber Dragon” as a fusion material. Spell/Trap killing effects haven't been involved in the monster effects ever for Cyber Dragons, giving this card an almost-sure spot in the Extra deck for clearing the way for bigger monsters to deplete the opponents Life Points. The more “Cyber Dragon” monsters you use, the more s/t you destroy upon its Fusion summoning.

Extra attacks are the norm for the archetype, but there were always inherited. Chimeratech Rampage Dragon allows you you send from the deck to give it extra attacks, up to two a turn. Fill the grave with LIGHT Machine-Type monsters for your other Fusion monsters while adding onto attacks you can make. CRD could clear the backrows out upon its Fusion Summon, then send two LIGHT Machine-Type monsters to the grave and attack 3 times that turn. This card has the potential like all the other Cyber Dragon boss monsters to be a game-finishing card early on.

In the archetype it is ridiculously easy to summon, has a great deck thinning effect that will help you later, and offers s/t killing. You could wipe the field clean on both sides if you use enough “Cyber Dragon” monsters. “Power Bond” or “Overload Fusion” this monster out, destroy the s/t, thin the deck of 2 LIGHT Machine-Type monsters, and finish your opponent early.

Finally, something not for Pepe. Chimeratech Rampage Dragon is a Level 5 Dark Machine-type Fusion Monster with 2100 Atk and 1600 Def. Except for being Dark, these are regular Cyber Dragon stats, which are fine for a level 5 monster. They are of course less fine for a Level 5 Fusion monster. The materials for the Fusion Summon are easy to get, just 2 or more Cyber Dragon monsters. Of course being a Machine-type Fusion monster makes many cards in the Cyber Dragon deck much more potent.

The first of the 2 effects only works after a successful Fusion Summon. You target Spell or Trap cards on the field up to the number of materials and destroy them. They can be chained, but clearing out at least 2 back row cards for the cost of 1 spell (Overload Fusion) is technically cheaper than Twin Twisters which costs a discard. Obviously clearing out more back row cards is better for the second effect. Once per turn, send up to 2 Light Machine-type monsters from your Deck to your Graveyard, and attack up to 2 more times. 3 attacks with 2100 Atk is good, but Power Bond makes this an OTK option. If your attack is stopped somehow, sending more Cyber Dragon fodder to the grave is good for more fusions or more uses of Rampage's effect. Unfortunately, this card is not splashable in any "tier" decks, but it might be enough to make Cyber Dragons at least relevant again. I certainly hope so.

Score: 4/5 Run at least 2 in Cyber Dragon decks.

Good to see the Cyber Dragon line being more versatile. This Fusion monster is already pretty good on its own with 2100-ATK, but it only gets better with the more Cyber Dragons you fuse it with. It gets even better with Prototype Cyber Dragon, because when it hits the field, it counts as the original CB. I'm almost certain there are other Cybers with the same effect, but only Prototype springs to mind.

The last effect regarding ditching two Light Machines for a triple attack is sweet, especially if you've used Power Bond to summon CRD, as it doubles its firing power. And even if you don't have Power Bond, there are other ways to power up your Fusion.

So yeah, this is a fun card. If I were to get a copy, I would consider building a deck around it.

Score: 4 out of five- not perfect, but super fun.
