If you have a Tribute Summon that needs to hit the field, Eidos the Underworld Squire might be the monster to help you along with that.
 
Essential for Monarchs to swarm, getting the chance to Tribute Summon in addition to your standard Normal Summon/Set is great. Inability to Extra Deck summon the turn you use that extra Tribute Summon can constrict the plays the player makes. If you don't use an Extra Deck at all, you lose out on all the pluses that gives you, and if you use this monster along with an Extra Deck, you are dedicating yourself to swarming/setting up moves for the next turn without the Extra Deck.
 
Banish to search out a monster with the same ATK/DEF as Eidos (except itself) and Special Summon it sets up more Tribute fodder for summons. Summon Eidos > Tribute for a monster > banish to search and Special Summon > Tribute Summon again.
 
Monarchs have benefited from this alongside other monsters like Spell Striker and Cyber Dragon, but this monsters first effect trumps those previous two monsters as you can fire off two monarch effects in a turn instead of one. Without Ultimate Offering, Monarchs needed a card that could help them in a multitude of ways, and Eidos works.
 
It may fit only for decks that Tribute Summon, and you have to have some monsters to match Eidos ATK/DEF to get the full benefit of it, but it is a decent card and can help that strategy greatly, but otherwise it doesn't help for any other decks.

Welcome to Monarch Week. The structure deck is becoming the core of the current meta and will be around for a while. Eidos the Underworld Squire is a Level 2 Dark Spellcaster-type monster with 800 Atk and 1000 Def. So monarchs use their stats to identify themselves for other card effects. Similarly the Squires and Vassals of the deck need to have 800 Atk and 1000 Def. I like this method of identification because it frees up the name of this and future cards. 
 
Eidos the Underworld Squire has two effects that are both once per turn. The first is that if Eidos is Normal or Special Summoned, you get an extra Tribute Summon for the turn. This effect won't stack with other monsters that grant additional Tribute Summons, which we'll get to another day. That being said, this effect is difficult to negate because it is usually Special Summoned with the effect of Edea the Heavenly Squire. This effect of Eidos is also interesting because it can be used in other decks, even decks that utilize an Extra Deck. Only the second effect restricts access to the Extra Deck, so this effect can be splashed into decks that need an extra Tribute Summon. Initially, I start to think of Dark Magician, but he still needs two monsters on the field. 

Eidos' second effect activates in the Graveyard when you banish him. You can Special Summon any other monster with 800 Atk and 1000 Def from your Graveyard in Defense Position. The prevailing logic would be to get Edea so she can get another Eidos from the deck and give you two monsters for a Tribute Summon. and Monarchs do love to have tribute fodder for their good effects to activate. In general, the Monarch structure deck has some of the best synergy. This makes it difficult to combine with other decks or tech cards. Eidos scores higher for being an exception.
