Cyber Dragon Infinity
- #BOSH-EN0943 Level 6 LIGHT Machine-Type monsters
Once per turn, you can also Xyz Summon "Cyber Dragon Infinity" by using "Cyber Dragon Nova" you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) This card gains 200 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up Attack Position monster on the field; attach it to this card as a face-up Xyz Material. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

This week we’re covering five of the hottest
cards from Breakers of Shadow, and today we start
off with one of the most talked about Xyz monsters
in recent times: Cyber Dragon Infinity.
Being a Rank 6 that requires 3 LIGHT Machine-Type
monsters would make you think that bringing this guy
out is next to impossible, but Cyber Dragon Infinity
can be Summoned by placing it on top of a Cyber
Dragon Nova you control. And Cyber Dragon Nova
happens to be Rank 5, which means you can summon it
with the effect of Tellarknight Ptolemaeus. So
pretty much, you take 3 Level 4 monsters and use
them to Xyz Summon Ptolemaeus, and you use
Ptolemaeus to Rank up into Nova, and then Nova Ranks
up into Infinity with 2 Xyz Material attached to it
(Ptolemaeus and Nova).
Coming into play with (at least) 2 Xyz Material
means that Infinity will hit the board with at least
2500 ATK, as it gains 200 ATK for each Xyz Material
attached to it. And what’s more is that once per
turn, he can attach one Attack Position monster to
him as material; this is pretty much the effect of
Number 101: Silent Honor ARK, but better and for
free.
And if that wasn’t enough, Cyber Dragon Infinity can
also negate any card or effect once per turn by
detaching an Xyz Material from it. This slightly
weakens Infinity, but that’s well worth the cost of
negating anything once per turn.
This card is insanely powerful, and the OCG has
already dealt with it by banning Tellarknight
Ptolemaeus. However, he’s free to wreak havoc on the
TCG for the time being, and you can expect any Rank
4-focused Deck (such as the Performage/Performapal
Deck that dominated that OCG for months and has
already taken an alarming 27 of the Top 32 spots at
YCS Sydney mere days after the release of BOSH) to
make use of it. This is definitely a card to watch
out for.

Hello Pojo Fans,
There has been a lot of talk about Cyber Dragon
Infinity and now that it will finally be released
its power will be unleashed on the TCG.
If you can Xyz Summon or Special Summon “Cyber
Dragon Nova” you have an automatic Cyber Dragon
Infinity ready and waiting for you. “Tellarknight
Ptolemaeus” can use 3 Xyz Materials to Special
Summon “Cyber Dragon Nova”, attach itself to Nova,
then BAM! Instant Cyber Dragon Infinity with 2
materials attached. However you choose to get it to
the field, as soon as it hits, it has protection.
Effect negation once per turn fantastic, and a
Relinquished-like effect to replenish your materials
to detach to negate is even better. Not only does
this monster negate once per turn and refuel itself
for more negating, but the more attached, the higher
its ATK goes. Combine that with other cards to
attach more materials, as well as the Type and
Attribute support this card inherits, Cyber Dragon
Infinity could become a real troublemaker in the
TCG.

I have been waiting a while for this to reach our
shores. Cyber Dragon Infinity is a Rank 6 Light
Machine-type XYZ monster with 2100 Atk and 1600 Def.
Cyber Dragon stats are alive and well here. They
have always been good enough for Level/Rank 5, but
at Rank 6 for 3 Light Machine-type Materials, I'm
expecting much higher Atk. Instead we get 4 great
effects.
Firstly, to ease that summoning condition, you can
just overlay this onto Cyber
Dragon Nova. Nova would have 2 materials, so
Infinity would have 3. Then Cyber Dragon Infinity
gains 200 Atk for each material, so hopefully at
least 2700 Atk on either way of summoning. The third
effect is to steal any face up Atk position monster
and put it under Infinity as material. If you want
to you could use your own monster, but it is way
better to steal your opponent's for huge field
advantage. Finally, once during either player's
turn, you can detach a material to negate and
destroy any activated effect. That's huge. Negate
anything and then attack with at least 2100 Atk. Get
rid of problems or boss monsters. All of these
effects make this monster the sought after card of
the latest set.
Cyber Dragon Infinity fits well into more decks than
it should because of Tellarknight Ptolemaeus. He's a
generic Rank 4 that lets you overlay to Nova, and
then Nova to Infinity. Since Rank 4 is the go to
Rank of this format, it makes sense for this to be
the money card. However, it loses points because it
takes up at least 3 spots in your Extra Deck.
Score: 4.25/5 The effects are great, but the
summoning is going to be tricky if the ban list
kills Tellarknight Ptolemaeus.
Art: 5/5 Light Tech Dragons are the awesomest.

Card: Cyber Dragon Infinity
Hot diggety dawg! If it weren't for Pendulum
Monsters being a thing, this card would never, I
mean NEVER, see the light of day. Initially it needs
three level 6 Monsters to be summoned, but with
Cyber Dragon Nova you could take the shortcut. But
getting this bad boy onto the field is the only
negative thing about him; everything else is
G-O-D-L-Y!
First of all, he gains 200 ATK for each XYZ material
on him, so at the very least he hits the field with
2700-ATK. But he only gets stronger by basically
absorbing another monster on the field, and that
includes an opposing monster. So, not only is he a
mad powerhouse, but he can potentially wipe the
field clean of all oppositions- again, theoretically
speaking!
Then comes his last effect: when a card or effect
during either player's turn is activated, you can
trash one XYZ material from this guy, and negate
that card/effect. I mean really, I give this card
another few months before it's banned from
competitive play forever, it's that damn powerful!
But of course, it's not invincible; your opponent
could bait you into negating a card only to nuke the
field or target CBI somehow on his or her next move.
And, his DEF doesn't boost, so once your opponent
manages to make him switch to DEF, he's a sitting
duck. And unless you're running with Pendulums,
you're going to have the devil's work to get this
little devil out. But the benefits, in my opinion,
outweigh the costs. As Ferris Beuller once said, "If
you have the means, I highly recommend picking one
up."
Score: 4/5- Nearly perfect, but only Pendulums and
madly skilled players can pull it off
