We continue our Breakers of Shadow week with a new Quick-Play Spell Card: Twin Twisters.

Like its name implies, Twin Twisters is effectively a double Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying up to two Spell/Trap Cards on the field. This comes at a price however, as you must discard a card from your hand to do so.

Obviously this card fits best in Decks that have easy discards, such as Burning Abyss and Performage. This turns the card from a 1-for-1 (well, 2-for-2 actually) into an effective +1, and it also clears out backrow for a push. Defensively it can be used to wipe out Pendulum Scales.

There really isn’t much else to be said about Twin Twisters; it’s really simple, but also really powerful in the right Deck.

Rating: 4/5

Twin Twister

An overall balanced but still very powerful alternative to Heavy Storm.  The require of a discard makes it hard to plus off of but you can always ditch the weakest card in your hand anyway.  Since it's a quick play, it's also chainable and can be activated during the opponent's turn for disruption.  In the long-term, this card will depend on how backrow-heavy the meta is, so it will come in and out of favor.  In the current meta, due to high Spell/Pendulum counts, trap space is tight so people only set absolutely crucial cards ensuring that Twin Twister will usually hit a necessary trap like Solemn Warning and Solemn Strike.  I expect Twin Twister, overall, to see play for a long time.

Twin Twister is a product of power creep. For the first time in the game's history, Mystical Space Typhoon has simply been outclassed. The card that started a phenomenon, known to all as a staple at 3 in either the main or the side, finally has a competitor with superior capabilities. For the first time, you can now destroy up to two spell or trap cards, with arguably the best card typing in the game, quick play spell. With the meta in its current state, where the top decks can + up to 10 resources per turn, a simple discard is no issue in order to hit powerful and otherwise potentially problematic backrow with ease. In addition, you will be able to destroy pendulum scales, chaining to their activation, before the pendulum summon commences. As good as all of this is, we are in a meta where there are so many disposable cards that are better off in the graveyard then in the hand to begin with, such as Vector Pendulum. At this moment, Twin Twister completely outclasses Mystical Space Typhoon and all other similar removal options. RIP Typhoon.

Mechanic Design: 3/5 (Really strong effect, but simply outclasses and powercreeps Mystical Space Typhoon, could have potentially benefited from some type of minor restriction )
Art:  3.5/5 (ancient telescope and magical hats throw back is the only thing keeping this art cool, otherwise it would be basic)

Hello Pojo Fans,

A new Quick-Play Spell for the TCG to have fun with. Break even like with MST, but unlike MST, this card benefits monsters that benefit off cost like Burning Abyss. While other decks that use their graveyard could use this deck, Burning Abyss will benefit the most. Destiny Hero, Zombie, Dragon, etc. can use this card to throw something into the graveyard, setting up a next move, while destroying opponent resources. You have the option to target any s/t on the field, as well as up to 2, so it also can function as a single MST (though you will end up with a -1).

Very good card worth looking into and testing. Burning Abyss get a new weapon to add to their arsenal.

This Quickplay Spell joins the list of really great S/T removal recently released. Twin Twisters is perfectly named because for the cost of a discard, you can destroy up to 2 Spell or Traps on the field. They can be face-up or face-down, Pendulum Scales, Trap Monsters, or even those monsters that Equip themselves to other monsters. Now if you run a deck like Performage or Burning Abyss, you should probably be picking Twin Twisters because the discard cost is not really a cost when you want cards sent to the Graveyard. Other decks have a choice among Twin Twisters, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Galaxy Cyclone. There are of course other archetype specific S/T removal to consider, and sometimes I like to Side Deck Night Beam as another good option. But this option should always be near the top.

Score: 4/5 Quickplay Spells are the best Spells.
Art: 5/5 Looks like Twin Twisters to me.
