Mermail/Atlantean is one of my favorite Decks ever. I got my first national invite with it back in 2013, and I loved the amount of options and power it had behind it. Powercreep eventually got the better of it, but Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince helps the Deck perform a lot better.
 
Searchable by One for One and Deep Sea Diva (both Limited, unfortunately), Neptabyss can send an Atlantean to Graveyard in order to add one to hand. In other words, you’re triggering an Atlantean while also adding one to your hand; a common target for both effects is Atlantean Dragoons. And if that wasn’t enough, if he’s used as cost himself, he revives an Atlantean (like Dragoons). Combined with Mermail Abyssmegalo, the amount of advantage he generates is tremendous.
 
This is one of the best cards in Mermail/Atlantean Decks now by a significant margin, and he helped improve the Decks speed and power to points where you can deal up to 12000 damage in a single Battle Phase. Unfortunately, the Deck still struggles with common matchups like PePe and Kozmo, but ultimately it’s in a much better spot and is once again a formidable threat.

“Mermail” decks were once at the top of the Tier 1 choice list of decks to use. Alongside Atlantean  monsters, Mermails were vicious. With Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince released to the TCG, the Mermail archetype may be coming back.
 
The Prince doesn't boast much for ATK or DEF, but how it combos with WATER monsters is why it may be what the type needs to make a comeback. Ditch an Atlantean monster to pull an Atlantean monster from your deck. The monster that comes to mind first is Atlantean Dragoons. Ditch Dragoons to get another Atlantean, then add a Sea-Serpent monster to your hand as well. Heavy Infantry destroys a face-up card, and Marksman will destroy a set card all while Atlantean Prince will add another Atlantean to your hand.
 
Regarding Mermails, Prince can be discarded for cost for any Mermail monster, and, in addition to the effect of the Mermail, Prince will Special Summon another Atlantean monster (except itself). Abyssleed, Abyssmegalo, Abyssteus all Special Summon off discarding Prince, while Abysspike can discard it when it's summoned to get you a search.
 
Searchable, easily summoned, and compatible with the WATER  monsters that made Mermails top tier, Atlantean Prince is just what the deck needed.

Weenie monster takes the win! Naptabyss, the Atlantean Prince is small. He comes in as a Level 1 Water Sea Serpent-type Monster with 800 Atk and 0 Def. These are very lackluster stats. His name has interesting components of abyss and atlantean, so he gets all that support. He needs to be Water so he can satisfy 'Water monster's effect." This card is only Ultra Rare because of its effects.
 
Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince has 2 and a half effects. Why? because the cost to activate the first effect triggers other good effects. The cost is to send any other Atlantean monster from the Deck to the Graveyard. That in and of itself is good for Deck thinning at the very least. It will also trigger other Atlantean effects. Then, after paying that no-lost-resource cost, search any other Atlantean from the Deck to your hand. Further Deck thinning is good, searching without the condition of being Normal or Special Summoned is good, and the artwork is good. I couldn't think of a third thing. 
 
The second effect triggers when Neptabyss is used to activate a Water monster's effect. Special Summon an Atlantean from the Graveyard other than himself. So all of his effects and costs can only be used once per turn and they all exclude himself. Personally, I would love to see a real duel that uses Catapult Turtle's old effect to Tribute this for 400 Damage, and then some other Atleantean from the grave for even more damage. Sadly, they nerfed Catapult Turtle to once per turn. Regardless, this prince is still great for Atlanteans.
