Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon
- #SHVI-EN099"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" + "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by sending the above monsters you control to the Graveyard (in which case you do not use "Polymerization"), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by battle. This card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, when this card attacks an opponent's monster, but the opponent's monster was not destroyed by the battle: You can banish that opponent's monster.

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon
If this had been reviewed just a couple years ago,
not much would have been said about it. Blue-Eyes
White Dragon went from dead to interesting to
crushing during that time span, but it’s only now
that we can discuss this card in any sort of light.
And that’s because even if you aren’t running
Dragon’s Mirror, this card can still be fusion
summoned fairly easily, just because it is so easy
to get two Blue-Eyes White Dragons into the hand or
onto the field. In fact, the Blue-Eyes theme right
now is the best in the game’s entire history at
getting one specific monster into the game, whether
it be the hand, field, or grave.
Now, does that mean I’m recommending using Poly in a
Blue-Eyes deck? No. Although it’s true that Twin
Burst Dragon is a beast that could win the game, his
low attack and the fact that he’s easily destroyed
are a non-justification for the cost of three cards.
And keeping Blue-Eyes White Dragon in the hand is a
necessity sometimes. Either for the cost of using
Trade-in, the requirement for summoning Alternative
White Dragon, or for the use of Mausoleum of White
or Dragon Spirit of White, having Blue-Eyes in hand
is now usually better than having him quickly sent
to the grave like in the past.
This, of course, leads us to the other option:
Dragon’s Mirror. But even this is a sketchy play.
While banishing two Blue-Eyes White Dragons isn’t
particularly harmful (especially in the OCG, where
Alternative White Dragon counts as Blue-Eyes), it’s
still dead weight until you can get two into the
grave. And then you only have one Blue-Eyes left,
which would make it suicidal to run more than a tech
copy of Mirror. As I said, Dragon’s Mirror will be a
bit more formidable once Alternative is released, as
that will provide 3 more potential targets and more
consistency. But even then, I have to believe that
Twin Burst’s future potential is limited solely to
inclusion as tech.

For half of my entire life, I've been wondering
why there wasn't a twin version. With Cyber
Twin Dragon having long been out, the expectations
are high, and I don't think the Blue-Eyes version
lives up to it. Giving up 2 3000 ATK beaters
for 1 rarely seems worth it. And, Polymerization
(except maybe in cases where there were theme-based
cards to search it), was never a good card.
This card has a lot of effect text, but it doesn't
do much. Can't be destroyed in battle?
Okay, but that's meaningless since few monsters in
the game are over 3000 ATK anyway and this card
(which you -1'd for) is still susceptible to Raigeki,
dozens of deadly Trap Cards and such. Being
able to attack two monsters can control the field
and rack up some damage, but it's just not enough.
Perhaps allowing two direct hits may have been a bit
much, but they could have worked out some compromise
while still having a degree of lethality. The
banishing effect is also underwhelming.
Because most monsters this card attacks will be
destroyed in battle. Attack Position monsters
that this card doesn't destroy in battle would
either have to be super-rogue, or strong enough to
destroy this card itself in battle. Monsters
with 3000 and higher defense rarely exist anyway.
It's just a really situational card, but sometimes
you may want to deal some damage, attack 2 monsters,
and maybe banish the anomalous stall monster.
It doesn't suffer from draw probability issues, as
an Extra Deck monster, (hence my somewhat lenient
rating), but it still takes up space. It's
plausibly useful but situational too.

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon
While currently I don't know terribly much about the
Blue-Eyes Deck, this card certainly boosts the Decks
options.
The first thing that you'd probably notice is that
it has the same ATK and DEF and a Normal Blue-Eyes
White Dragon, although with some nice "Benefits".
It cannot be Destroyed by battle which seems almost
irrelevant until you read the last effect where if
B-ETBD doesn't destroy that monster by battle, you
are able to Banish that monster, a thing that can
actually be quite relevant, especially for those
occasions where an opponent's monster would
otherwise prove problematic.
You can either Summon this card using a "Fusion"/ "Polymerisation"
card and Fusion Summon it, OR you can send 2
Blue-Eyes White Dragons from your field to the
Graveyard and Special Summon it, because of this,
Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon will be much easier to
Special Summon on average.
Rating: 3. Adds depth to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Deck but for the most part really doesn't add all
that much to the Deck I feel.

Hello Pojo Fans,
We finish up “Blue-Eyes” week with the newest fusion
for the BEWD archetype: Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon.
A Fusion Summon without Poly or another fusion card
is already a great start for a monster. Two BEWD
monsters are needed for this summon, but with there
being more an addition to monsters considered “BEWD”
besides the original, and their summons much easier,
this shouldn't be too hard of a problem to achieve.
Protection against battle destruction, great, two
attacks during each Battle Phase with its 3000 ATK,
awesome! To wrap it up, it will banish any monster
it doesn't defeat in battle at the end of the Damage
Step. Monster removal, internal protection, attack
power, and multiple attack possibilities, this
fusion has everything! Walls aren't going to save
your opponent from you getting to their Life Points.
Dragon's Mirror, Phantom of Chaos, and E-Hero Prisma
can aid in the ease of Special Summoning what may be
the new go-to monster for BEWD deck users. Sure BEUD
has great ATK, and it can be summoned easier with
the added support that BETBD has, but the lack of
what Twin Burst brings makes it a better, easier
choice to bring to the field.

The other Blue-Eyes boss monster is Twin Burst
Dragon. It is a Level 10 Light Dragon-type Fusion
monster with 3000 Atk and 2500 Def. I don't really
understand this trend to make Theme monsters match
stats when they are made up of more than one theme
monster. Two Blue-Eyes White Dragons should make at
least 3500 Atk and 3000 Def. At least the effects
are good.
The first effect is really an alternate summoning
condition where you can Special Summon Blue-Eyes
Twin Burst Dragon by sending two Blue-Eyes White
Dragon to the grave from your side of the field. Or
you could just Fusion Summon it properly. Those are
the only two ways. Then it can make 2 attacks on
monsters per Battle Phase. Then any monster that
isn't destroyed by battle can be banished by its
non-targeting effect. Finally, BETBD cannot be
destroyed by battle. This is your new Construct. If
it attacks, the opponent's monster(s) go bye-bye one
way or another. And it has built in protection from
battle. A perfect representation of the effort to
Special Summon it.
Score: 4/5 I wish it couldn't be targeted.
Art: 5/5 I just want one as a pet so i could ride
around the world on it.
