Lunalight Blue Cat
- #SHVI-EN008

If this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 "Lunalight" monster you control, except "Lunalight Blue Cat"; its ATK becomes double its original ATK until the end of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Lunalight Blue Cat" once per turn. If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Lunalight" monster from your Deck.

RCG
Blue Cat is a fantastic card for the Lunalight theme. I love monsters that do two separate useful things, and this has that in spades. But it’s not just her two effects that make her so solid. It’s the little things that make a big difference. She doesn’t have to be destroyed by the opponent, which is a really important aspect as Metalfoes are set to arrive in the TCG soon. Also because the Lunalights are beast-warriors, they can utilize the Fire Formation core. Dark is the best of the six attributes, and 1600 ATK is more than adequate.

Her future potential is very good. The Lunalights are run by a semi-main character in Arc-V, which means future support is all but guaranteed. Not only that, but there’s a clear missing cog from the Lunalight theme. Each different non-extra deck monster represents a separate phase of the moon cycle. Including the OCG, there’s seven, but the moon’s cycle has eight phases. Not only that, but if you put the five non-pendulums together, you’ll notice a missing moon position. There are two level-fours and two level-twos, but only one level three. Most likely we will get that missing monster soon.

Lunalights are already competitive, and Blue Cat is a must in threes. While the deck itself is currently make-or-break on Lunalight Wolf’s effect, that could very well change, and a little more balance would make this theme very strong, especially if they get some more pendulums.

Baneful

Hello, my squelching guppies.  Speaking of which, whatever happened to the reviewer Terrorking?  He's probably too busy managing the underworld.  Anyway, Blue Cat is a good support card for its respective deck.  The attack boost can be very useful depending on the monster.  The weaker LL monsters will barely be affected by the boost, but the stronger ones will.  Being able to turn an 1800 beater into a 3600 ATK powerhouse for a turn is quite good.  On the plus side, this card replaces itself after it dies, making it good on card advantage, a searcher and low risk.  Lunalights aren't going to be meta but the deck shouldn't be without 3 copies of this card.

As we continue to look at cards from Shining Victories, Lunalight Blue Cat enters the field. She is a Level 4 Dark Beast-Warrior Type monster with 1600 Atk and 1200 Def. Lunalights have just started to get support, mainly because of this card. However, it's Beast-Warrior that makes this card searchable with Fire Formation cards. Allure of Darkness at 2 makes this deck more consistent and will work with all the Lunalight monsters. Level 4 is always good, but 1600 Atk is a bit low for this staple monster.

Lunalight Blue Cat has two effects. The first can only be used once per turn and cannot target Lunalight Blue Cat. It gives a different Lunalight monster 1000 Atk until the end of the turn when she is Special Summoned. This would help powerful fields become more powerful for a turn, but it's not permanent, so take it with a grain of salt. The main effect is the second one because it can Special Summon any Lunalight monster from the deck including herself multiple times per turn. Blue Cat simply needs to be destroyed from the field to activate that effect. The 'from the field' part hurts this usefulness a bit, but it is still the necessary effect to get Lunalights to the grave for future Fusion plays, or to get another Blue Cat to pump the attack of one of your other monsters. With more Lunalight monsters to come this effect will become more useful, and the card as a whole is absolutely necessary because of that effect. However, Lunalights as a deck now are just fun and not really competitive.

Score: 3/5 Just average.
Art: 4/5 Looks like a blue cat lady to me.
