Ritual Monsters, from the very
beginning, were never a good type of monster.
They were situational (you had to have two specific
cards, plus other monsters). They were minuses
(you had to use 3 or 4 cards to summon just 1
monster). This card both increases the
consistency and grants resources to Ritual decks.
Rituals have gotten support over the past few years,
though some of it was hit on the ban list due to
Nekroz abuse. But now that Nekroz is no longer
a problem, Rituals in general could use a boost.
It should go without saying that this card is a +1,
has no downsides and therefore every Ritual focused
deck needs to run 3 copies of this card.

Pre-Preparation of Rites
This card is absolutely ridiculous. A spell with no
cost that lets you search for two cards from the
deck is outrageously overpowered in today’s game,
and has practically reserved a future spot on the
restricted list. And as ritual monsters are back on
the rise (Blue Eyes, Cyber Angels, Prediction
Princess), this card becomes everything in those
decks, not to mention older themes that get a huge
boost such as the Heralds. You draw one, and its
instant advantage and fuels your entire deck. You
draw 2-3, you’re practically handed a win.
I just don’t get the logic. Konami limits
Preparation of Rites only to replace it with an
equally busted, if not better card? There’s really
nothing more to say about this spell. Any ritual
deck that runs ritual spells that specifically list
the ritual monster is going to run this in 3’s and
that’s not ever up for debate. And I just don’t
think there’s a good purpose to any card that must
be run no matter what, and that can decide many if
not most duels based on whether or not it’s drawn.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Pre-Preparation of Rites is Ritual support for
players that have specific monsters they are
searching for. If you are fishing for a Demise, or a
Lord of the Red, this is the card to help you. A +1,
the only catch is the monster you pull from the deck
has to be written on the Ritual Spell you fetch from
the deck as well with this card.
This does restrict the playability, Nekroz won't be
playing this. It won't replace any card in a Ritual
deck that uses Ritual Spell cards that don't
specify. In decks that use specific Ritual Spell
cards, it won't replace the staple support either
like Manju and Senju.
Advanced-3/5- It's a +1 if you can use it, and will
put you in great position

Welcome back from a long weekend. We start this
short week with Pre-Preparation of Rites. It's a
Normal Spell that tries to revive Ritual Decks.
Nekroz being one of the only good ones in the last
few years sadly cannot take advantage of this card.
Pre-Preparation of Rites lets you search your deck
for a Ritual Spell and a Ritual Monster that is
listed on that Spell. Since the Nekroz Ritual Spells
as well as Advanced Ritual Arts don't list a
specific monster, they can't be searched. If you
don't have both the spell and the monster in your
deck to be searched, you can't even activate this
card. I don't know if that OCG Cyber Angel Ritual
Deck specifies monsters on their Ritual Spells, but
if it does, then this card will work. Herald of
Ultimateness decks might also switch from Advanced
Ritual Art to Pre-Preparation of Rites as an
advantage generator. It's too bad you can only
activate this once per turn.

Oh that poor, poor bird. He has no idea what fate
awaits him..... (Is it Thanksgiving already?)
The card art says it all: get ready to summon one of
your trump cards! This is a Godsend to those of us
who wanted to really take advantage of Ritual cards
like Herald of Perfection/Ultimateness or Demise,
King of Armageddon, and just didn't have enough
search engines for them. Now obviously, the ruling
family of Rituals remains the Nekroz Line, but at
least now we can see more play from older Rituals.
That is, if you're the sort of person who likes a
challenge. (I mean let's face it: even with this
card, Ritual cards in general are a tough act to
play.) I can't see this helping Rituals being more
competitive; however, there's plenty of potential
here for fun, casual play. That's why I'm giving
Preparation of Rites...
