Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn
Right off the bat, I’ll say the effects of Unicorn
aren’t that special. What makes him useful however,
is the fact that his scale is 8. No other
performapal has that high of a scale except
skullcrobat, and how often do you pass on normal
summoning your only skull for the chance to pendulum
summon level 7’s?
He’s a level 1, which is not my favorite. There’s
quite a few combos related to level 1 monsters, but
he can’t be pendulum summoned, which means his
monster effect almost never goes off. Unicorn’s
pendulum effect is useful and not to be
underestimated, but it’s nothing spectacular. Even
so, Unicorn is a crucial card for the Odd-Eyes theme
as three of the biggies are level 7. This provides
the main and only source to pendulum summon them.
Not only that, but Unicorn is especially effective
paired with Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon. Since Unicorn
sits in the extra deck, Persona makes use of him by
his effect to place an Odd-Eyes monster from the
extra deck into a zone.
Crucial for odd-eyes, Unicorn is an excellent
pendulum monster. He’s not limited to only certain
pendulum summonings, he’s searchable with a great
scale, and he’s got a reasonable effect that can
turn the tide in a pinch. If you’re interested in
odd-eyes (which has the greatest potential for
future expansion of any card in the game, because
it’s the ace card of Arc-V’s protagonist) then
you’re running this and loving it.

It's just a scale. Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn
is a Level 1 Light Beast-type Pendulum monster with
100 Atk 600 Def and Scales of 8. The only parts that
matter are that it's unlimited, the name works with
2 archetypes, and the Scales. I'm glad the Scales
have no restriction on what you can Pendulum
Summon.
The Pendulum effect is an attack booster. However it
only works on Odd-Eyes monsters that are declaring
an attack on an opponent's monster. You can only do
it once until you activate another Unicorn and the
boost only lasts until the end of the Battle Phase.
The monster effect is worse in that when Performapal
Odd-Eyes Unicorn is Normal or Special Summoned you
can gain Life Points equal to the attack of a
Performapal monster in your grave. How many strong
Performapals do you know about? So first turn,
Unicorn gains nothing, and later turns your
Performapals will be in the Extra Deck. The only
reasons to run this are for the Scales and the
archetype synergy.
Score: 2.5/5 Decent Unrestricted High Scale.
Art: 4/5 A successful merger.
