Tribute Burial
- #DPRP-EN010You cannot Special Summon for the rest of this turn. Once during this turn, you can conduct a Tribute Summon that requires 2 Tributes by banishing 1 monster from each Graveyard instead of Tributing (it is still treated as a Tribute Summon).

Tribute Burial
What we have here is literally the pinnacle example
of a paradox. To even run level 7 or higher monsters
in the game today, you need to be able to freely
special summon them in numerous ways. Even monarchs
proved that tributing can’t possibly be enough. They
reached their pinnacle through multiple special
summons per turn. But Tribute Burial prevents
special summoning after use. So even if you ran a
deck with many high level monsters, such as Monarchs
or Dark Magician, it’s impossible to make any kind
of successful combos. Sure, this is a tad different
from cards like Pot of Duality, in that you can
special summon up until the point of activation, but
let’s be real here.
I don’t hate the card. To be honest, this spell has
an effect you wish had been around during the fall
of the normal summon era. And I could possibly see a
use for it in the future. A deck archetype that
includes a lot of high level monsters, such as Dark
Magician or Blue-Eyes, but can attain additional
effects through normal summoning, much like the mega
monarchs. Another possibility is in spirit decks,
which are getting new support soon. I’d imagine
using Tribute Burial to bring out Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi,
Amaterasu, or Yamata Dragon would be excellent if
spirit monsters gained some other dominant support
that explicitly called for having such high level
monsters in the deck. But other than those specific
possibilities, there’s not much to like with Tribute
Burial.

It's election day. Can't wait for this to
be over. Remember to vote. I predict Clinton
wins, Senate is near-tied and House is barely
changed. Anyway, onto tribute burial.
Anime card that hasn't been released in over a
decade.
It's similar to Soul Exchange and Monarchs
Stormforth, except it brings out a two-tribute
monster and it doesn't require the opponent to have
monsters. Unlike those cards, it also doesn't
eliminate any of the opponent's monsters.
Another downside is that it only works
on two-tribute monsters, so it only has very
specific uses. It can be a boon for Light and
Darkness Dragon, a monster I've always been fond of.
Banishing is good, especially because you can
choose, although it also means you can't really use
it on turn 1. I guess, it's a -1, unless
you're banishing something active in graveyard, but
it's also worth considering that double tributing is
a -2.
Worst of all, this card has a situationality to it.
You need to have a big monster and this card at the
same time or else you have a dead draw. Soul
Exchange had this problem 10 years ago, but this
newly released card is even more situational. It
definitely has its merits but will only exist in
niche rogue builds.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Tribute Burial is a card that could see play in
Monarchs with the limitation of The Monarchs
Stormforth.
While not a Quick-Play, it saves you from depending
on a monster on your opponents field or on yours.
Get rid of a resource of theirs in the grave, while
removing one of yours to Tribute Summon one of your
mega monarch monsters. The Special Summon
restriction applies for after the use of this card,
and without it restricting you to using it at “the
start of Main Phase I”, you can do all your special
summoning before you play this card.
With their favorite Quick-Play limited, and Soul
Exchange stopping their Battle Phase, this card
could make some noise in Monarch decks and allow
them to reassert themselves. Not only in Monarchs,
but other tribute-based decks that use two-tribute
monsters as well. Blue-Eyes decks may Special Summon
a lot, but they could use this as well.

If you're registered vote in the United States of
America, go vote.
Tribute Burial has nothing to do with that. Instead
it helps with an old mechanic that was popular a few
months ago. It's a Normal Spell that stops further
Special Summons but allows for a Tribute Summon of a
2-Tribute Monster by banishing one monster from each
grave. One word comes to mind, Maybe. Normal Summon
effects will activate, and not giving up field
presence is good, but there are times when there
isn't the right monster in hand to use this. Or
there isn't a monster in both graves, particularly
in the early game. Tribute Burial isn't bad, it just
isn't great right now.
Score: 3/5 Too late.
Art: 3/5 Too many ghosts.
