Cyber Angel Dakini
- #DRL3-EN014You can Ritual Summon this card with "Machine Angel Ritual". If this card is Ritual Summoned: You can make your opponent send 1 monster they control to the Graveyard (their choice). If a Ritual Monster you control attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Once per turn, during your End Phase: You can target 1 Ritual Monster or 1 "Machine Angel Ritual" in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.

Cyber Angel Dakini
Of the three Cyber Angel ritual monsters, this is
the one I struggled reviewing. In the current game,
she’s a necessity in pure builds, as she helps you
recycle the all-important Machine Angel Ritual spell
card, but because that’s an end phase effect, I
struggle to see a good future for this card. When
Vishnu was released, I saw a lot of builds still
teching both Dakini and Idaten, but now that
Nasateiya has come along, I really doubt people will
find much room for either of them, especially when
coupled with the new ritual spell, Machine Angel
Absolute Ritual. Of course, Absolute Ritual requires
exact levels in tribute, so I could be wrong about
Nasateiya’s initial use.
Even so, does this spell a future for Dakini beyond
a tech copy? I doubt it. The allure of Cyber Angels
is two-fold: incredible amounts of searches that can
be used over and over every turn without real
restriction, and shutting down opponent moves
(either using Vishu or one of the Heralds or a
combination of any of them). Well Dakini doesn’t do
either of those things. The search is at end phase,
and she doesn’t negate anything. Sure, the monster
removal effect is nice considering it doesn’t
destroy or target, and I guess you could look at the
trample effect as a bonus, but it’s still not a part
of that core two-fold strategy. I just don’t like it
compared to the other Cyber Angels. Could be
personal distaste though – I certainly don’t hate
the card. I just would always want to summon
something else.

Cyber Angel Dakini
This is the powerhouse the deck
needs. It is a LV8 so there's a steeper cost.
I guess Cyber Petit Angel and a LV6 can help you
summon this. The effect of the opponent
sending a monster is nice but it varies from helpful
to only killing a floater. Piercing damage is
a nice bonus, but that's it. The best effect
of this card is that it searches every turn.
If you're able to land all these effects in one
turn, this card can be quite good.

Hello Pojo Fans,
We finish Cyber Angel week with Cyber Angel Dakini,
the strongest so far of the Cyber Angels.
With 2700 ATK, Dakini is certainty the powerhouse of
the Cyber Angels. Ritual Summon her and you can
force your opponent to send a monster of theirs to
the grave. “Send”, not “Destroy” can mean the
difference between your opponent breaking even off
their loss. Dakini gives any Ritual Monster you
control piercing damage. This adds a little more to
each of your other Cyber Angels you may have on the
field alongside Dakini. Even alone Dakini can use
this ability to her advantage and punish the
opponent attempting to defend their LP.
Dakini's best effect happens in the End Phase of
your turn. Adding a resource you've used from the
grave to your hand sets up next turn and gels with
the searching abilities of other Cyber Angels.
Recycling Machine Angel Ritual with Dakini, or get
back a Ritual Monster to summon next turn will
ensure you are prepared in case you lose Dakini. Two
on the field gives you a monster and maybe your
ritual spell as well.

Cyber Angel Dakini is a Level 8 Light Fairy-type
Ritual monster with 2700 Atk and 2400 Def. 2700 Atk
is borderline for a boss monster. Then again, there
is always the fear of a searched Honest. When Dakini
is Ritual Summoned, she can send an opponent's
monster to the grave. Non-targeting removal is
great, but some monster effects will still trigger.
Banishment would have been better. Also, this effect
only triggers upon successful Ritual Summon, so not
a Soul Charge effect.
There are two effects that don't care how Dakini is
summoned. The first is that she gives all Ritual
Monsters under your control the piercing ability.
This makes Quaking Mirror Force more valuable, or
that Trap Hole card that does the same thing.
Finally, Cyber Angel Dakini can recoup a Machine
Angel Ritual or any Ritual Monster from the grave to
the hand. This is the only effect that is once per
turn, but if there are multiple Dakini's then they
can all activate this effect which would happily set
up your hand for the next turn. However, Machine
Angel Ritual has a very useful banishing effect
which doesn't work with this card, so keep that in
mind.
With all of that, Cyber Angel Dakini has many useful
tools to damage the opponent, but some of the
effects don't work with other Cyber Angel effects,
including her own. If instead of the grave, her
effect put the monster face down, piercing would be
more relevant. Also, her grave recursion should not
have been restricted to Machine Angel Ritual since
the monster can be any Ritual Monster. Oh well,
there is more support coming, so the deck still
manages to be better than average with the inclusion
of at least one of these. Happy Friday!
Score: 4/5
Art: 3/5 With 2 weapons, I want 2 attacks.
