Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry

Well this is just a bad card, isn’t it? Even if Cyber Infinity didn’t exist to completely make Digvorzhak irrelevant, his effect is hardly great. You either hit it big and mill monsters (which is what you want to mill) and pop cards, or you mill spells and traps and waste time and effort. How is this not Barrel Dragon 2.0?

As I was researching this card, I couldn’t even come up with feasible Rank-Up plays into this guy. He’s just too mediocre to consider. If he banished, or didn’t target, or wasn’t once per turn, or only needed 2 level 5’s, then maybe I could see him being useful somewhere, but this monster literally has nothing going for it and should be relegated to the binder at all times.

After today, there are only 3 months left of 2016. That doesn't matter too much because 2017 will be very similar to 2016. But the final quarter of any year always seems to be the busiest. All the big business try to shove as much product down people's throats as possible. Good luck on Black whatever-day-of-the-week. Maybe you'll by today's card. Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry is a Rank 5 Earth Machine-type XYZ Monster with 3200 Atk and 2000 Def. The short version is I like all those stats, but not so much the effect. 
 
This XYZ monster costs 3 Level 5 monsters to summon. 3 field monsters is a cost that is always too high unless the effect is game winning. This one isn't. One material once per turn can be spent to send the top 3 cards of the opponent's deck to the grave and then destroy monsters up to the number of monsters sent to the grave. Non of that is optional. Once a material is detached, 3 cards have to be sent, and cards have to be destroyed up to the number of monsters. Fortunately, non of that targets. Unfortunately, everything about the effect could benefit the opponent, either by effects activating in the grave or when destroyed from the field. The lack of options hurts this card. If it could be either deck, this card would have been much better. Or banishment instead of destruction of the opponent's field cards. Oh well. Try one in Cyber Dragon or old Hat decks.
