Banning Kaiser Colosseum... Why?!!?!?!?!
It had its heyday back in the Bujin/HAT era but
is not used now. It's slow for a spell, is
vulnerable to removal and it stops the player from
making their own plays. It's also a bad top
deck and does nothing against an already existing
swarm.
So, why ban it?
Because it's a floodgate? No. Skill Drain,
Vanity's Emptiness, Soul Drain and many others are
even more a threat and they were not banned.
Because it was a degenerative design that could
shut out the opponent, despite not being a meta
threat at the immediate moment? No. Otherwise, Royal
Tribute and Deck Devastation Virus (as well as
plenty of other cards) would have been banned too.
Because the card has the same initials as Kaiba
Corp? Maybe. An absurd allegation is
fitting for an absurd ban. But then again,
(gasp), it also has the same initials as Konami
Corp. We can rule that reason out.
Because it might give rogue decks the ability to
threaten Pendulum swarming (the new central gameplay
mechanic)? Likely.
