Thousand Eye Restrict
- DB1-EN195
"Relinquished"
+ "Thousand- Eye Idol" As long as this card
remiains face-up on the field, other monsters cannot
change their Battle Positions or attack. Select 1
monster on your opponent's side of the field and
equip it to this card (This effect can only be used
once per turn and you can only equip 1 monster at a
time to this card). The ATK and DEF of this card
become the same amounts as the monster equipped to
this card. If this card is destroyed as a result of
the battle, the Equipped monster is destroyes
instead.

My first reaction to the ban list, was "Wow...
they finally unbanned TER! About a couple
years too late.". Then, I realized that they
already unbanned it months ago and they're just
putting it to 3 now. That goes to show you how
little impact TER had on the meta and how it wasn't
nearly as broken as feared.
I'm reading my review from months ago (which I, for
some reason, have no recollection of writing).
I rated it 4/5, which was very generous. I
tend to be lenient on Extra Deck cards due to the
lack of draw-probability issues, but this is not the
Ex Minion of Darkness era anymore. Extra Deck
spaces are really tight. Even if you're the
best LV1 Fusion around, you still need to compete
with Synchro's/XYZ/Norden.
I haven't lost all of my faith in TER though.
He's removal with mini-lockdown capability.
There's still room for him in the locals scene.
Maybe with the hits on Monarchs, some builds might
use Instant Fusion for tributing. But, yes,
that combo does take up 2-6 cards of deck space.
I did point out that 2016 is not the same as 2006
and TER is not broken today for two simple reasons.
- Metamorphosis was banned. Now, there's no
easy and highly advantageous way to summon it.
- The card pool has gotten much bigger. There
are dozens and dozens of ways to counter TER.
2.5/5

Hello Pojo Fans,
Thousand-Eyes Restrict comes up again on our CoTD
list, now officially unlimited in the TCG.
Instant Fusion at 3, this guy at 3, not sure anyone
will play three of each, but that would ensue
potential shenanigans. Absorb a monster and gain its
ATK and DEF while preventing any monster besides
Thousand-Eyes from attacking or changing position. 9
times out of 10 you will Instant Fusion this guy
out, absorb, then both go bye-bye at the End Phase.
Call of The Haunted, Dark Magic Veil, and a host of
other spell/trap cards can then revive
Thousand-Eyes, so I'm not sure you need 3 in the
Extra Deck.
Advanced-3/5- Potential is there, but it hasn't
really changed since the last ban list where it was
brought back.

Thousand-Eyes Restrict is free. Only one is ever
needed as an option for the copies of Instant Fusion
in decks. It's a puny Fusion Monster that can't
attack and is destroyed during the End Phase if
Fusion Summoned with Instant Fusion. It does get its
effects to block other monsters from changing
positions or attacking. It also sucks anything into
itself and gains its attack and defense. Basically,
this card turns 1000 Life Points from Instant Fusion
into a 'take one monster off the opponent's field.'
Farfa is easier. This at 3 would only clog the Extra
Deck. BanHammer was merciful to the wrong Fusion
Monster. I miss you, Construct!
Score: 3.5/5 It can be reused by Soul Charge.
Art: 4/5 Grossly awesome.
