Legacy of a HERO
Let me make this clear right off the bat: Legacy of
a HERO is one of the stupidest cards ever printed.
How is it that we have come to a point where there’s
any justification for making a card that lets a
player just draw 3 cards for no outrageous cost? We
got people banishing 10 cards here and dropping
their whole hand there, just to draw, but then this
spell card comes along that acts as if Instant
Fusion and Diamond Dude don’t exist.
That’s my long-winded intro for a card that is
clearly bonkers. It’s not enough that dedicated
non-masked hero decks can abuse this easily through
its normal operations. The real kicker is the ways
it can be utilized through the abnormal methods I
mentioned above or others. Instant Fusion can bring
out Steam Healer or Mariner, Diamond Dude can
activate Legacy of a HERO without cost, and then
there’s stuff like Gale Dogra (which I think is a
mistake to run, but it still exists.) Whichever
method you use, you’re likely to find success. This
card is especially chilling in D-Hero decks, which
already had a hoard of draw at their disposal and
now have three new targets for Diamond Dude to bust.
But now, instead of using Plaguespreader to put that
Destiny Draw on top, why not draw three cards
instead of two? And of course, being all dark types
gives easy access to Mask Change as well as
Predaplants, which lead to Instant Fusion, which
leads to food for Legacy. It’s hooliganism I tell
you! (Seriously, go check out Predaplant HERO decks…
it’s so dumb.)
I like the idea of bringing back Heroes. They are a
big mascot of the game to this day, and Konami gave
us three excellent new cards to revive them (not to
mention returning Stratos to 2 in the OCG), but
unlike Honest Neos and Vyon, this spell card
shouldn’t exist, and I am sure it will be abused one
day. How can it not be? I don’t like it, but it’s
obviously busted.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Legacy of A Hero is another draw power Spell Card
for the HEROS we love.
Put two of your Fusion HERO monsters back into the
Extra Deck to draw three cards. There aren't many
downsides to this card. You get back your fusion
targets and plus +2 off the draw, not to mention if
you run this card you can afford to run one copy of
certain Fusion HERO monsters and just keep recycling
them. Leaving them in the grave does lend you
Miracle Fusion fodder, but this card is too good to
pass up. HERO decks fuse and this card wants to give
them advantage all-around.
It's a Spell and you draw 3 from your deck for
putting targets back in your Extra Deck, sounds like
a win-win.

worthy choice for the art.

Legacy of a Hero, depending on how you look at this
card, is either a break even (a 3 for 3) or you
could view it as a +2. You give up this card
(and two Fusion Monsters from the Graveyard) to Draw
3 cards. I side on the side of this being a
+2, and appropriately, you can only use one of these
a turn. The Fusion Monsters return to the
Extra Deck, which is helpful, and there's enough
Draw involved to make this worthwhile. Short
and simple.

Legacy of a HERO
Today's COTD is Legacy of a HERO. Probably the
single best draw card for any archetype right now.
Legacy returns 2 fusion monsters from the grave to
the extra deck and you draw three cards.
There's no recycling of cards back into the main
deck, and it draws a trio of new cards. No other
draw power boasts that ability. The only real
downsides are that it has a "once per turn" clause,
the fusions need to list a HERO monster as material
and it's a normal spell card.
The HERO monster can be generic, so fusion monsters
like Vision HERO Trinity and Contrast HERO Chaos are
eligible to be returned to the extra deck aswell.
