Ancient Gear Gadget
- #SR03-EN000
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can declare 1 card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap); this turn, if a monster you control attacks, your opponent's Spell Cards, Trap Cards, or monster effects (whichever was declared) cannot be activated until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn: You can declare 1 "Gadget" monster's card name; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that name.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Gadgets get more support with cross-archetype help
from Ancient Gears in the form of Ancient Gear
Gadget.
While it won't search for another Gadget upon its
summon, it can stop your choice of effects until the
end of the Damage Step. There is a way you can get
creative with it though and pull a certain Gadget
from the deck. Because Ancient Gear Gadget can act
like Phantom of Chaos and become a certain monster
in name, you can call a Gadget name and then use
Machine Duplication to pull the other two from your
deck. Get double searches from the other two Gadgets
you summon, or Special Summon from the hand when
declaring Gold or Silver Gadget.
While it isn't a direct help to the Gadget
archetype, it can be helpful with the right cards.

Ancient Gear Gadget
Today's card is Ancient Gear Gadget, a level 4
machine from the newly released Machine Reactor
structure deck. Boasting a decent defense of 2000
and low attack of 500, AGG boasts 2 effects.
It's first effect is a slight upgrade over the
Ancient Gear's effect to shut off Spells and Traps
when an Ancient Gear attacks. When it's normal or
special summoned, AGG lets you choose whether to
turn off your opponent's monsters, spells or traps
when any monster you control attacks this turn.
And it's not a once per turn effect either, meaning
you can summon one, and use Machine Duplication to
prevent your opponent from activating anything when
you attack. And AGG doesn't even need to be face-up
on the field during the battle phase either which
lets you use AGG's second effect more readily.
AGG's second effect lets you change it's name to any
other Gadget monster once per turn, and while not a
benefit straight away, it greatly benefits from
being able to use Machine Duplication to create two
copies of any Gadget monster for more advantage.
Turning into Red/Green/Yellow Gadget will net two
more Gadget monsters from the deck, thinning it by
four cards, Iron/Silver Gadget will set up special
summons from the hand.
Ancient Gear Gadget will be a definite helping hand
for Ancient Gear decks and even find itself being
splashed into ABC decks to help speed the deck
along.
