Todays card of the day for a belated easter line-up
is Wind-Up Rabbit, a level 3 earth beast-warrior
with 1400 attack and my favourite monster in the
game. People that know me, know that I predominantly
use a chain beat deck, in which Rabbit is king.
During either players turn, once while it's face up
on the field, Rabbit can target any Wind-up
monster and banish it until your next standby phase.
Straight away, it's good for triggering Wind-up
Shark and Factory. And for giving any Wind-up
monster a reset of its effect. It's small enough
that it's a target for summoning through Giant Rat,
or searching with Wind-up Factory or Fire Formation
- Tenki.
While it doesn't look like much on it own, it's
surprisingly resilient, being able to dodge the
majority of effects and return for another try. You
run it at 1 or 2 in wind-ups, letting you recycle
Magician and Rat's effects.
In the upcoming Link era of the game, it gets even
better, being a temporarily removed monster allows
it to return to the field in whichever main monster
zone you want it to. So it can leave the field, then
return in a link zone.
Advanced 4/5 Not a perfect monster by any means, but
it's toolboxy enough that it'll dodge most commonly
played cards, and cause the opponent to waste more
resources to remove it permanently.

Hello Pojo Fans,
The days where Wind-ups ruled the TCG have long
since passed, but Wind-Up Rabbit remains a card that
can stand by itself.
Decent ATK, highly searchable, Rabbit can strike for
damage and save itself at any time, only to return
during your Standby Phase. This card worked wonders
with Wind-Up Factory to keep netting the player a
search. If you target another Wind-Up monster, then
you won't be able to reuse the effect of Rabbit, but
the best way to use Rabbit is with its effect on
itself. With Diamond Dire Wolf you can get a free
destruction by targeting, then banishing Rabbit.
While the opponent can use their targeting effects
on other monsters, then attack your Rabbit and force
you to banish, giving them a direct attack, you will
get Rabbit back to work with next turn.
When Zenmaity hit the ban list it was all-but the
death nail for Wind-Ups, but Rabbit is still a
decent monster.

It's not Throwback Thursday, but here is Wind-Up
Rabbit. Wind-Up Rabbit is a Level 3 Earth
Beast-Warrior-type monster with 1400 Atk and 600
Def. The stats aren't great, but for Level 3 they
are at least ok. I remember using this in Psy-Frames
to have a Normal Summon monster that could attack
and then leave the field. Its effect allows it to
target any face-up Wind-Up monster during either
player's turn and then banish that targeted monster
to return during your next Standby Phase. I'm sure
it's good in a Wind-Up deck, but on its own, it can
dodge a number of destruction or removal effects
just by chaining the effect and returning the next
turn. The only downside is that if it doesn't target
itself, it can't use the effect again while it is
face-up on the field. Certainly an all around good
card just for splash factor.
