Cockadoodledoo
- #JOTL-EN083
If there are no monsters on the field, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) as a Level 3 monster. If your opponent controls a monster and you control no cards, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) as a Level 4 monster. If this face-up card would leave the field, banish it instead.

Cockadoodledoo.
Today's Card of the day, and my second pick for a
belated easter week is Cockadoodledoo, a level 5
tuner that went largely unnoticed. It has lower than
average stats for it's original level, but that is
where this chicken shines.
In addition to being a tuner monster, it can be
special summoned from the hand in two ways. First,
if there are no monsters on the field, you can
special summon it as a level 3 monster. And straight
away, that begs to be abused with Speedroid
Terrortop, Taketomborg and the Wind Witches for rank
3 and synchro shenanigans.
It's second special summon effect is if your
opponent has a monster and you control no other
cards, you can summon it as a level 4 monster. And
again it can be used alongside Wind Witches and
Speedroids. Or just used for a rank 4 play.
However it's last effect limits its revivability as
if it leaves the field, it banishes itself. Coupled
with it's low stats for a level 5 monster has made
it fade out into obscurity. Wind and Winged Beast
are well supported, but without being part of an
archetype, it won't garner much attention.
Advanced 2/5 It's waiting for the right deck to
really take advantage of it. |

Cockadoodledoo
Seems like a versatile card in some way, either a
LV3 or LV4, also a Tuner. But this doesn't
seem much different than the many cards like
Goblinbergh or Tin Goldfish which just provide Tuner
fodder. But it does seem like a faster version
overall. Stats are good for a low level, but
not as a LV5. It's basically a filler monster
to help out a combo. It is what it is.

Special Summon monsters are everywhere, but this
one is special because it is a tuner. Cockadodledoo
is a Level 5 Winged Beast-type Tuner Monster with
1600 Atk and 2000 Def. It can serve as a quick block
with 2000 def and 2 Special Summon effects.
Obviously, the tuner aspect is appealing as a Level
5 monster, but the only way to access the Level 5
monster is to Tribute Summon or Special Summon it by
different effects. No matter how it gets to the
field, Cockadoodledoo banishes itself when it would
leave the field. That is a bummer for sure. 1600 Atk
also keeps this off Sangan's radar which is too
bad.
The first Special Summon method makes Cockadoodledoo
a Level 3 monster when summoned without any monsters
on the field. The second Special Summon method makes
it a Level 4 monster if your opponent controls a
monster and you control no cards. Again, easy
Special Summon monsters are good, and Tuners with
versatility are very good. However, I'd rather have
a Level 5 Tuner Special Summon monster as well. And
then maybe take out that part where it banishes
itself when used for a Synchro Summon.
