Hello Pojo Fans,

Pot of Avarice was a great card that even more today could be abused.

Send 5 monsters back to the deck to draw 2. With Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and now Link Monsters in the game, it's entirely possible to send the 5 back and draw 2 from the deck without any going into the main deck. That scenario would be a +2, while regaining all 5 of your Extra Deck monsters. With Avarice you could regain access to monsters you only could run one of in the Extra Deck, or just have a way of recycling monsters without adding specific support like Warrior Returning Alive. Late game you could activate two Pot of Avarice and get a serious advantage. This card gives you cards while preventing deck-out, and puts resources back into either the Main or Extra Deck.

If they made it a “once per turn” Avarice may come back, much like Stratos, but unlikely.

If you ever noticed when you opened up a Structure Deck that you got a Jar of Avarice, it is likely because OCG had Pot of Avarice in theirs and it is banned over in the TCG. The question is, is Pot of Avarice worth its slot on the Forbidden and Limited List?

Pot of Avarice is a simple card that allows you to put 5 monsters back from the GY into the deck and you can draw 2 cards. The ability to gain resources back is always great, Daigusto Emeral is considered an Extra Deck Staple for a reason, and the Draw 2 is powerful as we can see from Pot of Greed being forbidden. This card is a dead draw early in the game, but can help you win a game later on.

It is still a great card for gathering resources back and gaining advantage, but it being a dead draw early game makes me feel it is safe to come back.

Pot of Avarice...for me, this particular Pot is one of those cards Banned that I understand...and at the same time, don't feel is necessary.  You target 5 Monsters in your Graveyard and return them to the Deck, and then you Draw 2 cards.  Granted, you likely can use this very early in a Duel until you get the required cards in your Graveyard to use, but it adds some balance to it's brethern Pot of Greed (which is an automatic +1, no cost, and can never, EVER return).  Avarice is dangerous though because you get the opportunity, at least, to reuse these cards you cycle back to the Deck.  That's more important, or at least dangerous, in my opinion, than being able to Draw the two cards.  Could this come back?  I'd be okay with it, honestly.
