I decided to pick the oldest of the cards for
Throwback Thursday, and this one is a personal
favorite of mine. Arguably the most iconic card in
the game, Monster Reborn.
Monster Reborn does the obvious and revives a
monster from either GY. This card is nearly immune
to power-creep. I don't even think Soul Charge can
out power it due to the drawbacks it has, but they
are on an equal level. Monster Reborn can steal a
game or extend your plays, making it nearly a staple
in every deck. With Links out now, this card just
gets better as it can help you keep your Link combos
going.
The card is easily one of the greatest Spell cards
of all time, and I will love to see it come back.
The rating might be a little biased, but it is such
a good card that it does deserve it.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Monster Reborn may be another card that will never
see the light of day off the ban list, but who knows
when it comes to the ban list.
Best. Card. Ever. Any monster that can be Special
Summoned from the grave is a target for this card,
and either graveyard is up for grabs. In top-deck
wars this was game-winning. It is a card that can
abuse effects that aren't once per turn, add to
field prescience, or help bring you back from the
brink. It deserved to be banned and even changing it
to limit itself to your graveyard would likely not
bring it off the ban list. It is too good of a card
and the only time it is useless is if you don't have
a grave or are locked down via something stoping
your Special Summon or playing this card.
Rarely does a card get a perfect, but this card
deserves it. It has existed since inception of the
game, is legendary from the original Yu-Gi-Oh, and
remains all-too powerful.

Todays banned card is Monster Reborn, a normal
spell card released way back in Legend of Blue-Eyes.
A card that was banned for good reason, but yet
almost everyone wants off the ban list.
Monster Reborn is very simple. You target a monster
in either player's grave and special summon it to
your field for free. Every deck can use and abuse
it. It's capable of pushing for further advantage or
outright turning games round. It's just THAT good.
Advanced 5/5 Short and sweet on this one

Monster Reborn is just too wrong to come back either
(much like I referred to Pot of Greed yesterday).
While no card advantage here, at least immediately,
you certainly can win games and come out easily on
the plus side just by dropping this card. It
is a tad slower with the wording of Targeting the
Monster now being in the card text, but this card
also needs to stay Banned forever.

4.75/5 (if legal)

When this card came out, it was
fair. Special Summoning was very rare, Waboku
was viable enough for a player to have a defense
against an OTK and monster removal was plentiful.
However, as the card pool
expanded, we had too many cards which were doing the
same things. So Reborn became an easy ban for
Goat format, which still had Premature and Call.
Too much combo and abuse
potential today. However being able to summon
an opponents own monster against them always felt
epic.
