Firewall Dragon
- #COTD-EN043
2+ monsters
Once while face-up on the field (Quick Effect): You can target monsters on the field and/or GY up to the number of monsters co-linked to this card; return them to the hand. If a monster this card points to is destroyed by battle or sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand.

Firewall
Dragon
By now, most savvy players have
seen the nearly endless combos that can be had with
Firewall Dragon. As with monsters that came before
it, any card that has the ability to bounce cards
without real limit is bound to be an enabler. And
while Firewall Dragon is a link 4, the fact that he
can be summoned through any kind of monsters, even
tokens, means he’s easily obtained. And that’s not
to mention he has perfect link arrows. This firewall
truly is fearsome.
However, we shouldn’t get too
ahead of ourselves. While Firewall is indeed capable
of much, he’s not quite able to launch links into
the stratosphere. Regardless of the method, he still
needs four material to summon. And one Compulsory
Evac takes care of him immediately (unless you also
happened to have summoned Honeybot to protect him.)
The overall weakness of link monsters in this new
format is embodied in what Firewall Dragon can and
cannot do. At least so far. But he will no doubt be
a player for a long time and he could very well be
banned in time if future support goes too far. His
effects aren’t limited to once per turn, he isn’t
prevented from being special summoned from places
other than the extra deck, and he possesses no
shackles on his ability to attack. Konami avoided
all their usual nerfing measures, which means he can
only be a great card for the foreseeable future.
Just as a monster that can add
monsters from the grave to the hand, Firewall Dragon
is a gem. But his additional effects put him over
the top as a standalone card. He’s an expensive
monster to summon, but one that allows you to reap
rich rewards as a result. This dragon that isn’t a
dragon is a superstar nonetheless and should make
its mark on the game eventually.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Firewall Dragon has been one of the more hyped link
monsters since Link Summoning was announced.
You need at least 2 monsters, but being a Link 4,
you will need up to 4 monsters to Link Summon this
Cyberse monster. Being a Cyberse and not a Dragon
hurts Firewall with the tremendous amount of support
it loses out on (the idea of Special Summoning
Firewall to the Main Monster Zone from the grave is
overpowered). The best way of summoning Firewall
Dragon would be through Scapegoat and summoning a
Normal Monster and first Link Summon Link Spider.
Great ATK for the amount you commit to it, great
Attribute support behind it, and while not a
Dragon-Type, Cyberse do have some support.
The more co-links you make with this card, the more
you get off of the one-time quick effect. Compulsing
a monster(s) off the field avoids destruction and
slows down your opponent. You want Firewall Dragon
in your Main Monster Zone so you can point to more
monsters, but at the least you can get one off of it
pointing at your opponents Link Monster (if they
have one).
If you lose a monster Firewall points to, Firewall
can replace it with a monster from the hand. Crash a
monster of yours into an opponents monster, get a
new one from your hand and gain off your monster
going to the grave. Unlike the first effect this one
can be used as many times as you want, and as many
times as you'd like per turn.
If a deck can Special Summon a lot without losing
out on resources, Firewall Dragon is a great choice.

Every set has a cover card, and today we get to talk
about the cover card, and probably the best card of
Code of the Duelist, Firewall Dragon.
Firewall Dragon is a Link-4 requiring at least 2
monsters and points Up, Left, Right, and Bottom.
These are great Link Markers, considering the
powerful effect Firewall Dragon has. Once while
Firewall Dragon is on the field (Quick Effect): you
can target monsters on the field and/or in the GY up
to the number of monsters co-linked with Firewall
Dragon, and return them to the hand. This is a
great, versatile effect that can disrupt your
opponent or extend your plays. We have already seen
many FTK loops involving this card, as well as some
powerful plays with World Chalice involving the
Extra Link. This effect in the right deck can be
broken. If a card Firewall Dragon points to is sent
to the GY or destroyed by battle, you can Special
Summon 1 monster from your hand. This isn't a once
per turn effect, though it should be. This just begs
for more abuse with Link Summoning.
The card isn't meta right now, because no Link Deck
is consistent enough to keep up yet; however, the
day will come when this card is broken in a Link
Deck. The effects are too powerful, it is hard not
to give Firewall Dragon a perfect score. It is too
abusable.

Todays COTD is Firewall Dragon, a newly released
Link monster from COTD. Firewall weighs in at 2500
attack, on a Link 4, light Cyberse body needing 2+
monsters to summon him.
First up, ONCE while Firewall is face up on the
field, he can target monsters on the field or grave,
upto the number of co-linked monsters and return
them to the hand. That effect is good for returning
resources, and is a quick effect so it can also
react to anything your opponent does, but it needs
multiple link monsters pointing at each other for it
to actually resolve.
Secondly, if a monster Firewall is pointing at is
destroyed by battle or sent to the grave, you can
special summon a monster from your hand. And that is
just worded strangely to me. It helps the controller
take advantage quite easily, allowing for potential
multiple special summons.
Advanced 4.5/5 Like Topologic Bomber Dragon,
Firewall Dragon is a must play at the moment, if you
have access to him
