Destruction Sword Memories
Buster Blader support is some of the most confusing
in the entire game. It was just so odd when these
cards first came out. Like, was anyone really
calling for Buster Blader support? And why wasn’t he
related to Dark Magician in any way? His early
support (if you can call it that) made him seem
closely related, but there was nothing in the new
batch of cards that recalled that. But I digress.
It’s here, and the archetype itself is fun, if not a
little weird and perhaps too hopeful that the
opponents are all running some dragons.
Destruction Sword Memories is an okay card, but it
unfortunately summons the wrong thing. If this trap
had helped you to synchro summon Buster Dragon, then
we’d be talking about a potential MVP card. Or maybe
if it was a spell instead of a trap. But because its
second effect summons Buster Blader, the Dragon
Destroyer Swordsman, it essentially helps you bring
out a big beatstick when you need it. And we’re
living in a time that demands more from our cards,
especially slow trap cards.
My belief is that you’re obviously running this card
if you’re playing a Buster Blader deck. It does some
really great things, but it definitely doesn’t
launch the archetype to new heights. And that’s
pretty much the theme of the cards we’re reviewing
this week.
