Sadion, the Timelord

We start Timelord week with Sadion, but while most of the Timelords are decent, this isn’t one of them.

Sadion’s battle effect changes your lifepoints to 4000 if they are less than that. Note that it doesn’t increase your lifepoints, thereby being incompatible with those types of cards, such as the Aromages and Agent Angels. That’s all this guy does that’s unique to himself. It’s terrible.

Timelords should be even better when link monsters come into the fold, but right now, they can really only be used as an internal engine in other decks, such as Lightsworn and various fairy decks. As such, the preferable lineup is usually a handful of the better Timelords and Time Maiden. Sadion has no business joining them.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Timelord week on Pojo.com. With the release of the highly anticipated Battle of Legends: Light's Revenge, we've got a host of new Timelords to the TCG.

Sadion, the Timelord starts us off. Same stats and effect as its predecessor and other Timelords, with the exception of what happens at the end of the Battle Phase. Sadion will make certain at the end of the Battle Phase that if your LP will become 4000 if they are lower than that. This is handy late game, or against a burn deck or if you've suffered a heap of quick damage. LP's are critical to some key cards like Soul Charge, Warning and Strike, but most of the time you are able to fight against lower LP on your side and still win. Sadion will be cycled back into the deck as well at your Standby Phase, so the chances you'll see it again aren't as good and all you've done is make your LP 4000 with it. It may give you a second or even third chance at coming back, but it isn't giving you field or hand advantage. If your LP are high when you draw or get it to your hand then it is a useless card.

Sadion, the Timelord:

This week will mean a lot to me as I chose the 5 cards we reviewed. I decided to use my week to do a Timelord Week. This week, we will look at the Timelord support in Battles of Legend and a Timelord first released to the TCG in Photon Shockwave. We will start this week off with the worst of the Timelords.

Go to my Zaphion, the Timelord review for the standard Timelord stuff.

Sadion's unique effect is that if it attacked and your LP are below 4000, they will become 4000. Sadly, this isn't the anime, where you start with 4000 LP. This is dead early on if you haven't lost over 4000 LP yet. I kinda wish this said 8000, but maybe that was deemed too good.

If you are trying to throw as many Timelords into a deck as possible, I guess 1 of this guy won't hurt.

Syn

Starting this week off, we have Sadion, the Timelord. Clocking in at 0 attack and defense, on a level 10 wind Fairy, Sadion is one of the new Timelords released. For those who don't know, the Timelords are a series of monsters used by Z-one at the end of 5Ds and are based off of the Tree of Life with Sadion being a reference to Zadkiel.

Like the rest of the level 10 Timelords, Sadion can't be special summoned from the deck or destroyed in battle or by effects. He can also be normal summoned without tribute if you control monsters and no player takes damage from battles involving him. He also has an effect that activates when he battles like the other Timelords. At the end of the battle phase when Sadion has battled, if your life is less than 4000, it becomes 4000.

It's a good life regainer in a pinch, but somewhat useless and a dead card early to mid-game. Additionally, Sadion shuffles himself back into the deck once per turn during your standby phase. It's an activated effect, so if you can negate it, then Sadion will hang around longer.

He's got a reasonable effect, but loses out playability to the other Timelords. I'd only run 1 of him in a dedicated deck myself.

Advanced 2/5 Honestly, the weakest of the new Timelord support.
