Twilight Ninja Kagen - #BLLR-EN017
Pendulum EffectYou cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except "Ninja" monsters. This effect cannot be negated. Once per turn, when your "Ninja" monster declares an attack: You can make that monster gain 1000 ATK until the end of the Damage Step (even if this card leaves the field).
Monster EffectYou can Tribute this card, then target 1 "Ninja" monster you control; it gains 800 ATK until the end of this turn.

Twilight Ninja Kagen
As I mentioned yesterday, Twilight Ninja Kagen
piqued my interest because of his low level. Being a
level 1 Ninja begs to be targeted by Ninjitsu Art of
Duplication. So, of course Konami had to go and give
him 0 ATK and no flip effect or even a worthwhile
main effect. But unlike his brother Jogen, this
monster has some worthwhile traits.
His scale is incredibly weird, since the highest
level ninja is only level 7, but it offers an
alternative method to summon out the underrated Red
Dragon Ninja if you have a lower scale (do not use
Jogen. He’s terrible). Plus his pendulum effect
isn’t bad at all. Getting Hanzo to 2800 and Gold to
2500 is no joke, especially when you’re doing a Gold
swarm or transforming Hanzo the next turn. It’s
simply unfortunate that his field effect is utter
crap.
Overall Kagen isn’t completely useless, and he has
some future value if high level ninjas were to ever
be released. But right now, the best Ninja decks
still shouldn’t use him.

From one Ninja Pendulum to the next, here is
Twilight Ninja Kagen.
Kagen is a scale 10, but you can only Pendulum
Summon Ninja monsters and you can't negate this
effect. Standard for a high scale, but you'll only
play this in Ninjas more than likely. Once per turn,
if a Ninja monster you control attacks, you can have
it gain 1000 ATK until the end of the Damage Step,
even if Kagen leaves the field. This is a nice
little effect to help something like White Dragon
Ninja kill something he normally couldn't.
As a monster, you can tribute Kagen to have a Ninja
gain 800 ATK until the end of the turn. This is nice
on a Pendulum Monster, but he is a Level 1 and there
are only 2 Scale 0 monsters. Would of been nice if
Kagen was Level 2, but oh well.
This is another decent card for Ninjas to kill
monsters they normally wouldn't be able to kill.
Worth playing, especially being a Scale 10 for
Ninjas, though there isn't a Level 9 Ninja.
