Honeybot 

Honeybot is an important monster in this early stage of the link format and is probably the best link monster in the game save for maybe Firewall Dragon. As with the early days of Formula Synchron and T.G. Librarian, Honeybot serves as a superb link between the first extra deck plays and the latter broken ones. I discussed yesterday how much better it is to have at least one arrow pointing right or left. Well Honeybot points both ways, which means she’s the easiest second link monster to choose from. 

Requiring two Cyberse monsters makes summoning Honeybot a challenge, but since Cyberse is an actual type, the pool of monsters available to summon her will only grow, increasing her future potential. They key to defeating link monsters will most likely always be getting rid of the first or second link monster that the opponent summons. If you don’t stop it early, you’re toast. And that idea makes Honeybot really good, since she protects the monsters she points to in two different ways. She’s the play extender of this generation and can be quite easily had through a number of one-card or two-card combos. 

If you’re running a link deck, the odds are you’re going to be running a few Cyberse, especially when you’re going for the extended plays link decks are capable of, and if that’s the case, you’re running Honeybot. Link decks at the moment can’t stand up on its own, but link monsters are the future. Like pendulums, they are bound to explode in short order. Hold onto three copies of Honeybot for sure.

Link Monsters are finally here and today we're looking at Honeybot.

Simple Link 2 monster with decent ATK. Honeybot would be a go-to for all players if it didn't require Cyberse monsters only. If you only needed two monsters to make Honeybot it would be so good. If you do make Honeybot though your monsters that are pointed to by this cards arrows will be protected against targeting card effects. In addition, they also cannot be destroyed by battle. Sideways arrows are great if you can make Honeybot in the Monster Zone. You'll need to Link Summon a Link Monster with a down arrow first. Honeybot offers great protection to monsters its arrows point to if you can bring it out. With 1900ATK though it will be the first monster targeted to open up those monsters its points to.

While only Cyberse monsters will benefit from Honeybot, it's still a great Link Monsters.
