Throwback Thursday looks back at Exarion Universe.
 
Good stats, Attribute, and Type, but its effect is almost useless. A decrease in ATK for piercing damage isn't too useful. 1400ATK piercing will get through a lot of DEF monsters that have lower ATK, but there are plenty of monsters that have piercing monsters without an ATK drop. Horn of The Phantom Beast alongside this card will help outweigh the drop in ATK and net you a draw alongside the piercing.
 
I wouldn't use it though, even back then it wasn't the greatest card.

This weeks throwback thursday has us taking a look at Exarion Universe, a level 4 dark beast-warrior with 1800 attack and 1900 defence. Both REALLY good stats for a level 4. Exarion was first released as a popular promo from the 2005 series of tins.
 
Now, for the let down in Exarion's effect. Despite being an 1800 attack body, which was excellent for 2005, Exarion can gain piercing, which is also good, BUT only if he decreases himself by 400 attack. And that really hurts his playability.
 
Dark and Beast-warrior are both well supported. And his stats are VERY respectable. 1900 defence on an 1800+ attack body is almost unheard of for level 4 monsters.
