Speedroid Dominobutterfly
- #DPDG-EN004
Pendulum EffectYou cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except WIND monsters. This effect cannot be negated. You can discard 1 WIND monster, then target 1 of your banished WIND monsters; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Speedroid Dominobutterfly" once per turn.
Monster EffectCannot be used as a Synchro Material, except for the Synchro Summon of a WIND Dragon or Machine-Type Synchro Monster. If this card, Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, is used as a Material for a Synchro Summon, banish it.

Speedroid Dominobutterfly is a Level 2 Wind
Machine-type Pendulum Tuner Monster with 100 Atk and
300 Def and Scales of 8. As a Scale Dominobutterfly
is nice and high but it restricts from Pendulum
Summoning anything that isn't Wind. It also allows
you to discard a Wind monster to gain a Banished
Wind monster back to your hand once per turn. On the
field, just having a Pendulum Tuner Monster can lead
to some interesting combos. However, the Synchro
potential is limited to just Wind Dragon or Wind
Machine Synchro Monsters. On top of that, Speedroid
Dominobutterfly banishes itself if it was Special
Summoned from the Extra Deck and used as Synchro
Material. All the restrictions hurt, but the future
potential is still high. You can use another
Speedroid Dominobutterfly to get the banished copy
to your hand. I even like that this can summon
Stardust Dragon. A nice happy Friday butterfly.

We end Dimensional Guardians week off with the first
Pendulum monster for the Speedroid archetype in the
TCG (the other one will be a Manga promo at a future
date, I believe) and that is Speedroid
Dominobutterfly.
Dominobutterfly is a Scale 8, which is normally the
highest scale you get without a restriction;
however, Dominobutterfly decided to have a
restriction anyways. You cannot Pendulum Summon
monsters except for WIND monster and this effect
cannot be negated. Hey Majespecters, if you wanted
another High Scale, here you go! To be honest,
you'll more than likely use this in Speedroids than
Majespecters. Once per turn, this is a hard once per
turn, you can discard a WIND monster to target a
banished WIND monster and add it to your hand. If
your 1 of Terrortop somehow got banished, this is a
nice way to get it back. I just don't know how often
Terrortop will get banished
Before I get into the monster effect, I'll go ahead
and mention that this guy is a Tuner, and all
Pendulum Tuners have restrictions. Just look at
Luster Pendulum, Harmonizing Magician, Noble Dragon
Magician, etc. This guy only has restrictions as
monster effects. You can only Synchro Summon a WIND
Dragon or Machine using this guy. You are mostly
playing WIND Dragons and Machines in your Extra Deck
if you are playing Speedroids, so this isn't too
much of a downside, the other restriction; however,
if this guy was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck
and used as Synchro Material, banish it. Again, all
Pendulum Tuners have restrictions because Konami
doesn't like Pendulum Monsters to keep coming back
and be used as Synchro Material. I get that.
This card isn't too great for Speedroids, and if you
aren't playing either of the Speedroid Pendulums
when they both come out, I understand why.
