Dark Hole

Type - Magic Card
Ability
- Destroy all monsters on the field. (Including your own.)
Average Rating - 4.56

Reviews

Yugiohmaster8 -

Rating:4.5

This card (limited 1 per deck) is just a little less powerful then Raigeki (also limited to one).  It kills every monster on the feild, no madder what position, atribute, and kind.  Thus being a perfect way to rid your self of your aponents best monsters in the game.  After plaing this card you may then summon a monster in to play (and unless stoped from waboku or some other card/cards) then attack you aponents lp directly.

Combos

Dark Hole + Monster Reborn

First use dark hole to take all his monsters away.  Then use monster reborn to get the best monster you and attack his lp direct.

Dark hole + 2x Bewd + lord of d + flute of summoning dragon

This is the same as the combo with bewd exept you can get all the damage direct :).

Rating: Overall Rating - 4.75
Casual: 4.5/5 – Lack of high powered beasts and more monsters overall make it slightly less effective. Still no reason not to play it. =/
Tourny: 5/5 – Strong monsters run amok here. The only downside is that you’re going to be facing Dark Holes-aplently as well. >_<

Dark Hole, a card a lot like Raigeki, yet amazingly different. Given the ability to destroy every creature is powerful and insane. I suppose the only drawback is that you discard your own, but that’s what Raigeki is for. =/

So how to use it effectively? Well, assuming you have a creature in your hand, you attack your opponent’s life points directly and there’s nothing they can do about it, save Trap Hole-ing your summoned monster. It’s best used after they just Soul Exchanged your solitary monster for their Blue Eyes, White Dragon. So you just lay this bad boy down, free of retribution. Then you Reborn their BEWD. >=D Even if you have a monster and the opponent has three, it’ll probably be worth it to use it, assuming one of his overpowers yours. Basically, use it when it’ll hurt him more. ^_^

Defense tactics… Are pretty much zero. Card destruction for in the hand, and De-Spell for the field. Those are pretty much your only options. Seriously, LoB was terrible for its defense against Traps and Magic. You’ll just have to grit your teeth, and not play too many monsters (just enough so your Summoned Skull doesn’t get Fissured -_-; )

Casual Play: 4
Tournament Play: 4
Pros:
-Can be like a raigeki.
-Has some nice combos with it.
-Is a way that can get rid of all your oppenents hard work in trying to get out good monsters.
Cons:
-Destroy all monsters on the field.

Reasons for Pros: The reason why dark hole can be a really good card is, because if you are playing under the japanese restrictions then you can use this card as a second raigeki. Also like raigeki this card, although it affects your monsters to, when placed in the right deck that doesn't matter. I think any good yugioh player would know the right time when to use it. I don't think a good yugioh player would use it just to destroy things like a celtic guardian. Now, like everything there are exceptions to this. Maybe you need to destroy that  celtic guardian to win the game. And finally like raigeki, this card can cripple your oppenents hard work in getting out that BEWD. Or the more likely and better Black Magician. ;p

Reasons for Cons: The only con to this card is, if you have a BEWD or a Black Magician I don't think you'd want to use this. Or even a summoned skull... Thats the only real con to this card, its basically a raigeki otherwise.

Combos: Ah well maybe even discarding your own monsters can be a good thing. How you ask? well critter + Black forest witch +all exodia parts in deck is a faster way to win. Say, you have two critters and one Black forest witch you use dark hole, and you'd get 3 exodia parts from your deck These cards aren't out in american, but it ensures a quicker win if pulled off correctly. Don't worry though, Black Forest Witch and Critter will be out in the next set Metal Raiders! Another combo is this with monster reborn. Get rid of all your oppenents Monz, and then start the attack with maybe a Black Magician or even a BEWD. So this card has multiple puposes. it can clear your oppents field so you can attack directly at their life points, or you can use their own monsters against them with this and monster reborn and well then their is the exodia combo.

Pojo - You Know it's a good card if it's limited to one per deck - 5.0
