Hey, cotd loving ppl, today's cotd is...
Sword of Deep-Seated:

Tourney Play: 2.25
Casual Play: 2.75
Overall Play: 2.5

Pros:
+ Plus 500 attack.
+ You can use it on any monster.

Cons:
- It goes back to your deck.
- High attack mons can still beat a mon with this card equipped.

RFP: Well, this card has a couple of key pros. Like Stim-Pack this card adds attack to your any monster. That is a good pro, because you can make any monster with a 1300 attack or higher a decent or good monster with this card. Although I still think stim-pack is way better then this card, because of the cons this card has....

RFC: Now, you think a card going back to the top of your deck is a good thing, but it really isnt. I mean say you have nothing in your hand, and your la jinn dies against your oppenent's summoned skull. Then you are kinda screwed, because low and behold you redraw that sword of the deap-seated. So if it goes back to your deck, then that could help you, but in my oppionion, 8/10ths of the time it is going to hurt you. Also if your oppenent has a bewd, or something with a high attack, I dont think one sword is going to do much...

Combos:

Sword of the deap-seated + mon: Power up the mon....=/

Card Destruction + Sword of the deap-seated: Get a new hand and get this card back...

Tribute to the doomed + Sword of the deap-seated: Discard a mon, and get this card back.

and you get the picture, anything that discards this card, this card will just regenerate itself.

IMO this card is not good, and should not be played in your deck, it just gets the 2 rating, because of the 500 attack to ANY monster... good luck and happy dueling....

Wed- Sword of Deep Seated

The hottest thing since Reinforcements it seems, no? Sword of Deep Seated gives you 500 extra Attack power. Not huge, but big enough to make a difference. It also has an annoying little effect- whenever it is discarded, it goes to the top of your library.

=/

Well, I do NOT like that. Think about it. What decks really need speed? F/S beatdown. What kind of deck would this go into? F/S Beatdown. This thing really kills the speed of decks, let me assure you.

Think of it this way:
F/S Beatdowns have insta-kill effects galore in their decks. So that extra 500 ATK generally costs you a turn, since a good F/S should have a way of destroying that equipped monster.

Stall decks rarely attack. Sure, you may be able to punch through a Giant Soldier of Stone’s defense, but you may also attack a Wall of Illusion. To the top of the library to ya! =\

Exodia decks are pretty much like Stalls. =\

Rating: 2/5 Bleh. =\

SomeGuy's week of choosing continues as we look at another Equipment card, Sword of Deep-Seated.

Card Text:
Equipment Magic
A Monster Card equipped with this card increases it's ATK and DEF by 500 points. When this card is sent to your Graveyard, place it on top of your deck.
Analysis:
When this card first came out, I become an instant fan of it.  Not only does it give a 500 point increase to any monster, it also regenerates itself when destroyed.

Then I realized that this regeneration tells me what card I'm going to draw next turn.  What if I need a Raigeki, or Monster Reborn, or a strong monster?  Will I have a chance to draw that?  Nope, I get this guy back instead.

The same thing that makes Stim-Pack good makes this card more of a pain than it's worth.  Odds are, your Sword won't be staying on the field very long, meaning it will constantly regenerate, meaning you'll have less of a chance to draw a critical card.

There is a way around this, though.  It's called Big Eye.  Its flip effect is a clone of Pokemon's Pokedex card (look at the top 5 cards of your deck, rearrange in any order).  This way, you can counteract that effect, but you WILL draw it within the next 5 turns, unless you use another BIg Eye.

I'll stay with Stim-Pack until Magic Ruler, however.

Combos:
Sword of Deep-Seated + Magic Jammer = Regenerate your discarded card.

Sword of Deep-Seated + Big Eye = You can still find that critical card.

Counters:
Instability on the field: If it keeps going to the Graveyard, you're going to run into eventual problems with the regenerative effect.

Should YOU play it?
Not yet.  In later sets, however, there are semi-broken combos you can pull with this and cards requiring discards for upkeep (Spirit decks with Spirit Syphoning Equipment love this card).

Score:
Well, it is a 500 point increase, and you can keep reusing it, so I'll give it a 2.3.  The second effect can really mess up your drawing, however.
