Thursday - Fake Trap

Useless card in my opinion. Fake Trap reads: When your opponent uses a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster Card to destroy your Trap Card(s), this card can be destroyed as a substitute for your Trap Card(s).

Fake Trap's best purpose is to help againt opposing Heavy Storms. Attempting to counter a card thats pre-restricted (Heavy Storm) isn't a very good idea in the first place. Most of the time, Fake Trap will be dead weight in your hand.

It does have a few other uses, but the cards that it will neglect aren't played much anyway.

Rating: 1.1/5

Thur- Fake Trap

Fake Trap? Errm… Well alright. =\

I suppose Fake Traps go into decks… With a lot of Traps. =/ They kinda take the fall for a Trap, when it would be destroyed (basically prevents Remove Trap, Trap Master, and such). But ya know what? It still sucks. =P

See, it doesn’t stop Seven Tools of the Bandit and ya know why? Because Seven Tools is a Counter Trap, that’s why! X|

Honestly, this card is so not worth it. Just don’t even bother. You should play a fun Magic card before this. Like Block Attack or Germ Infection! =D

Oh, I think you’d have to flip the would-be-destroyed trap card to make sure that it is indeed a Trap card. Kinda like with Sangan and Witch.

Rating: 1.2/5  Yay! It can do something! >_>;

Today we're looking at a very unique card, Fake Trap.

Card Text:
Normal Trap
When your opponent uses a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster Card to destroy your Trap Card(s), this card can be destroyed as a substitute for your Trap Card(s).

Analysis:
There is really only one card that this will work well against, and that's Heavy Storm.  You can destroy this card instead of losing your Trap Holes, Mirror Force, etc.  Other than that, this card has no real use.  Very few people use Trap Master for it to be a threat.  You may be able to use it against Seven Tools.  I have to ask Edo about that.

I would rather use Magic Jammer to negate Heavy Storm.  At least with that, I can use the discard combo and I won't have to waste a spot in my deck for Fake Trap.

Combos:
There aren't any, really.

Counters:
Seven Tools of the Bandit: Heh.

Should YOU play it?
If you are deathly afraid of Heavy Storm, splash one in.  Otherwise, forget it.

Score:
I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and a 1.9.  It's not very good IMO.
