Tues- Block Attack

Second day for my CotDs! =D

Block Attack! Wheee! A fun (and USABLE :O ) card. ^_^

Make that Summoned Skull, La Jinn, Neo, Battle Ox, Dark Elf, and 7 Colored Fish quite weak. >=D

Yes, you don’t get to do damage… -_-; And yes, it’s not nearly as effective on Barrel Dragon or Blue Eyes. But in some cases, it is better than a Stim-Pack. :O

In some cases its not. =\

Basically, it is mad TeCh :O! Yep, that crazy word from pokeymanz is coming back. ;)

I tried running two of these. No, they were dead weights. =\ Then I tried one. MUCH better. ;) They work as a GREAT discard, since you really aren’t losing anything. Need it back? Magician of Faith it. Granted, 60% of the time, it won’t do you any good. However, that 40% combined with the 1/40 chance of drawing it…>=D

Rating: 3.6/5 Like cheese, talking, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee, Block Attack is only good in small quantities. Use as directed. ;)

Today we take a look at Stop Defense's long lost brother, Block Attack.

Card Text:
Normal Magic
Select 1 of your opponent's monsters and shift it to Defense Position.

Analysis:
This card is basically a compromise between Fissure and Tribute to the Doomed.  You get to pick what monster you want to use the effect on, but you don't destroy it immediately, and you don't have to discard a card.  Of course, odds are, it will be destroyed when you attack.  Otherwise, you just wasted a card =/

This thing makes a nice counter to the standard F/S deck which now packs Dark Elf (I knew it would be popular) and 7 Colored Fish along with La Jinn and Summoned Skull.  Basically, using Block Attack is a free kill against any of the above, since their defense is so low.  However, I have seen very few decks actually use this card (I haven't experimented with it yet), but the ones I've seen end up doing pretty good.

Combos:
Block Attack + Barrel Dragon = If you can't destroy their BEWD with BD's effect, hit them in Defense mode!

Counters:
Dream Clown: Yay, they get to destroy one of your monsters! -_-;;;

Should YOU play it?
I would sideboard it at least.  If your opponent runs a F/S or Barrel Dragon (or a hybrid of both), it will help.  If they run a defense deck/Exodia, it will probably be worthless.  It's a situational card.

Score:
Block Attack deserves a 3.2.  It makes a nice counter to standard F/S decks, but it's very situational, as your opponent may play a defensive stall deck.  In that case, use Stop Defense instead.
