Thursday - Waboku

Waboku Reads: Any damage inflicted by an opponent's monster is decreased to 0 the turn this card is activated.

I'm still a little unsure about the current ruling on Waboku, but if Edo's rulings are correct then Waboku stops damage from ALL your opponent's monsters.

A great time to use Waboku is when you have a Summoned Skull VS. Summoned Skull (Or any two similar monsters for that matter) matchup. Simply flip over Waboku and your Summoned Skull survives while your opponent's is killed.

The only big weakness to Waboku is Seven Tools of the Bandit and Solemn Judgment, but a counter is a counter. They're just things you have to deal with, and anyway, you can always flip over a counter for yourself if totally neccissary.

Another cool aspect to Waboku is that if your opponent plays Heavy Storm you can just flip over Waboku at that time and prevent all damage from an upcoming Attack Phase.

In my opinion, Waboku is an above average card that has been overlooked with Metal Raiders released.

Rating: 3/5

Thur- Waboku

Fourth CotD! My week is almost up… ;-;

Waboku. No one really played it much before its new ruling. Only the occasional Stall deck that was pure crap. XP

However, Konami decided “Well, heck! Let’s power up Waboku!” >_>;

NOW it blocks EVERY monster. Not just one (don’t worry about past battles. The old ruling was only one, so you weren’t cheated. =P) anymore.

It is the trap version of The Unhappy Maiden. But is that good? =\ Aren’t monsters, overall, more useful than traps? Especially if it does the exact same effect?

Hmm… Well, I dunno! If your deck needs more monsters and has too many m/t as it is, obviously go for Maiden over Waboku… Although you get to choose with Waboku… >_<’ Arrg, choices choices, non? ^_^

Rating: 2.9/5  Well, even with the new ruling… Ehhhhh. ;-;
