We continue the week
with........
Dream Clown:
Tourney Play: 1.5
Casual Play: 3.5
Overall Play: 2.5
Pros:
+ Its effect can
be used multiple times.
Cons:
- Low attack and defense
- Its only really useful
when swords of revealing light is out.
- It has to be switched
from attack position to defense position.
- Its weak to fissure,
raigeki, etc etc
RFP: There isn't much to
say about this card. The best thing about this card
is that its effect can be used multiple times. I
think that is the best thing about this card. I mean
an effect that can last until the monster dies
really is good. That is really the only pro to this
card, otherwise its just a week monster with a good
effect.
RFC: Well, the most
obvious is the low attack and defense. I mean 1200
attk 900 defense doesn't really cut it, in this
enviroment. I mean so many monsters have over that
its not even funny. Another con to this card is that
it is only good during a swords of revealing light.
Which is a con, because you'd only get to use his
effect maybe 2 times at the most, which isn't worth
it. To use the effect this card has to be in
attack position and then switched back to defense
position With a 900 defense just about anything can
kill it. So it would only get to kill 1 monster
without swords probably. And finally the common
monster removal cards own this card.
Combos:
Swords of revealing
light + Dream clown: Destroy two monsters at most
with this.
Swords of revealing
light + Dream Clown + Magician of Faith: Get another
two monsters from this.
Well there ya have it,
another day, another CoTD. I am sorry if this is so
short, but this card right now isn't very good. As
always good day, and happy dueling.

Tuesday - Dream
Clown
When
this card is changed from Attack Position to Defense
Position select and destroy 1 monster on your
opponents side of the field.
Before
english Metal Raiders was released, this card had
potential when it was comboed with another card. I
don't want to get into it though, the wording on the
other card was changed (And this card for that
matter) and the possible combo is dead.
Anyway,
in my opinion, Dream Clown is a below average card.
The reason for this is because of its low ATK
allowing easy kills from an opposing monster while
it's in ATK mode. Like it's effect states, it
must first be in ATK mode for it to go off.
If
you have a Swords of Revealing Light on your side of
the field thats when Dream Clown becomes a tad more
interesting. This will enable you to use its effect
with ease. Even with this little combo, it still
isn't a playable card in my eyes.
If
you really want to play Dream Clown, make sure you
play many powerups that it can equip. This will
slightly lower the chance of it being killed by your
opponent the following turn.

Overall Score: 2.0 (uhhhh......yeah......)
Casual Play: 2.5
Tournament Play: 1.5
Ummm......this card is
weird. It says if I change it from attack to
defense, I can destroy any of my opponent's
monsters. It also has stats of 1200/900.
Now, how can I make sure this guy can survive long
enough to use its effect? If only I could
prevent my opponent from attacking..... Oh
yeah, Swords of Revealing Light! *hits self on head*
Ehhh......this is an
unusual card. I'd stay away from it. I'm
not a real big fan of this guy. If you want to
combo him with SoRL/Waboku, feel free to.
Otherwise, run away, grasshopper...
Combos:
Dream Clown + SoRL
= Yay.
Counters:
Monster removal:
=/
Casual Play:
Knock yourself out.
Tournament Play:
May be teched into some Barrel Dragon decks, but
overall, nah.
TOMORROW'S COTD: Shield
& Sword, yet another Joey card! Unlike the
last few, however, this guy is useful...

Today's Card of the Day is
quite an interesting one, Dream Clown.
Oh, and by interesting I mean mediocre. I mean, it's a
less useful Man-Eater Bug. Not that Man-Eater
Bug is that great anymore, but, y'know. Dream
Clown is one of those cards that could use
just a tiny bit of a push in stats, and then it'd be
just godly. Anyway, it doesn't have the push, so it's
not. Oh well.
Its effect is useful,
but how long does a monster with these kind of stats
(note: they're not HORRIBLE, but nothing up to the
standards of what it'll be against) last on the field?
Not very. When it's flipped and destroyed by a monster
of your opponents, its effect doesn't activate. A flip
summon would activate it because a flip summon
automatically changes a monsters to defense mode, but
an enemy attack does not. So he just dies, like the
pitiful and creepy clown he is, not to mention he
could probably use a haircut.
There's a semi-good
strategy with him, though. Just put a Swords
of Revealing Light on the field, and any
monsters they put on the field are fair game for him.
Of course, once the Swords of Reavealing Light
wears off, he'll be just as weak, so...y'know. Monster
removal is basically the best strategy right now, and
that's what this thing does. Did I mention he looks
really weird? He does.
Rating - 2.7
Monster removal rocks, stats do not. Try him on a
sideboard or a fun deck. Who knows, he may work for
you.
