Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Tri-Horned Dragon

Card Number - LOB-000 (secret rare)
Average Rating - 3.5 (based on 3 reviews)

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - May 6, 2002

NickWhiz1
Overall Score: 3.5 (excellent card, but difficult to find)
Casual Play: 3.0
Tournament Play: 4.0

First off, don't think you'll find an easy way to get the English version of this card.  It's a Secret Rare.  Combine this with the fact Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are almost impossible to find these days, and you can guess where this is going.  Now to the review:

This guy is like, t3h lord of F/S decks.  If you play a F/S deck with 3 Swords of Dark Destruction, it may be worth taking this guy over BEWD.  I do, and it works pretty well.

Of course, ALL Lord of D. decks should play this card (unless you can't get it).  2850 is nothing to scoff at, and the Lord of D. combo lets you get it out without those 2 sacrifices.

Combos:

Tri-Horned Dragon + Lord of D. + The Flute of Summon Dragon = Duh.

Tri-Horned Dragon + Sword of Dark Destruction = 3250 attack power.  Don't worry about the defense decrease.

Tri-Horned Dragon + Card Destruction + Monster Reborn = Currently, the best combo with high-level monsters.

Counters:

Trap Hole: Lord of D. and Monster Reborn can get around this...

Monster removal: =/

Casual Play:
You'll be lucky to find even ONE of these guys (unless you use the Japanese versions as well), but if you do, put it in, especially if you are running a F/S deck with Sword of Dark Destruction.  Otherwise, you may be better off with the infinitely easier to find BEWD.

Tournament Play:
I won't expect to see many of these guys at tournaments (again, unless you own Japanese versions of this card, and I don't even know if Upper Deck/Konami will allow them).  However, you may see 1 or 2 occasionally in a F/S deck of a VERY rich/lucky player.  These guys do bring an extra notch of power to dedicated F/S decks, though.

Verdict:
Of the two Secret Rares in the first set, this is by far the better of the two, and highly useful in the insanely popular F/S decks that flood the current metagame.  If you manage to get a copy of this elusive card, by all means play it.  You may like it.
Zap Hey all, ZaP here again here is the next spiffy card of the day.... So here
it is...

Tri-Horned Dragon

Casual Play 4.5
Tourney play 3.5

Pros:
-Good attk
-Can use sodd with....=/
-Good defense
-can be used with lord of D

Cons:
-normal cons to any mon trap hole fissure etc etc
-two tributes to bring it out

Pros:
Well obviously this thing has a good attack. I mean 2850, is the 2nd highest  in the game. Also you can use sodd with it bringing its attack power higher then BEWD. Although I dont like any of those I prefer summoned skull, but thats besides the point. I'd rather just use reinforcements with this card. Also it has good defense, but who would put this thing in attack mode anyways? also it can be used with the lord of d, flute of summoned dragon combo which is really not bad of a combo. So yea this card isnt that bad.

Cons:
Uh yea the normal monster cons. Uh yea kill it. Which isnt cool. Also Two tributes to bring it out obviously isnt good. I mean its like hah you have to kill two of your own monsters to bring me out to possibly get trap holed or fissured or man eater buged. So yea there are a million reasons why this card might not be worth it.

Combos: This cards only combo is lord of D with flute of summoning dragon. So uh yea there is really nothing else to go with this card. I mean right now its one of thoe high attack monz, that really doesnt seem worth it...

Well yea thats it.... cya later bois and girls
CCGChewie Hmmm, I like this card. I wouldn’t play the Tri-Horned Dragon, but I like it ;) It’s a Dark Dragon giving it nice qualities over his over-used brother, the Blue-Eyes, White Dragon. It can be Flute of Summoning Dragon’ed into play, then receive a healthy boost from Sword of Dark Destruction and/or Dragon Treasure. Poor ole Blue Eyes only gets Dragon Treasure. However, being a higher lvl monster, he needs two monsters to get into play. ;/ That hurts. :P Plus, he’s a Secret Rare so people will be like :O when you play him! =D

Rating: 2.3/5 – I’d use him over BEWD… But not normally ;x
