CCGChewie Wed: Pot of Greed

Pot of Greed? Err… Come on what is there to write about the Bill of YuGiOh?

Well, you draw two cards giving you double the draw power on your opponent.

=/ Hmm… Play it? ;/

Rating: 5/5 – Draw Power=Good. Draw Power without penalty= :O!

NickWhiz1
Overall Score: 5.0 (this needs no true explanation)
Casual/Tournament Play: 5.0

Meet Bill's favorite work of art.  This thing gives you 2 free cards with no drawbacks.  You hear me?  NONE AT ALL.

You have no excuse not to play this card, unless your excuse is "I don't own it."  It is a Normal Rare in LoBEWD boosters, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.  (It must be for me, because I've pulled Right Leg of the Forbidden One, Man-Eater Bug, Trap Hole, Fissure, and Stop Defense over Pot of Greed).

The only other drawing card we have is Card Destruction, which we will cover on Friday.

Since this isn't Pokemon, Konami found it necessary to immediately can this card's brokenness by restricting it to one per deck, like its brethren Dark Hole, Raigeki, Monster Reborn, Change of Heart, and Exodia.

Combos:

Do you really need any combos with this card?

Counters:

If you play this card immediately, like you should, there is currently no card that can counter it.

Casual/Tournament Play:
If you own this card, you have NO reason not to play it.

Verdict:
...

Metal Raiders:
Solemn Judgment (God's Declaration) and Magic Jammer (Magic Jammer =P) will eat this card alive in Metal Raiders, as will the upcoming Imperial Decree in the Curse of Anubis expansion.  Make sure those guys are gone before attempting this card, or you lose the effect.  This is always a good card to use the effect of the Magician of Faith (Saint Magician) on.

TOMORROW'S CARD: One half of the Gaia the Dragon Champion combo, and it's the most playable of the two.
SomeGuy Pot of Greed--don't ask any questions. Just PLAY it. Free cards are always good, and a one for two deal works excellent by giving you an extra free card and thinning your deck allowing you to get the cards you need a little bit sooner.

There really is not much more I could say about Pot of Greed. It's so simple yet so effective. It's also restricted, but that doesn't keep from the fact that EVERY deck should play one.

So where's the drawback? There isn't one, simple as that. There's absolutely no reason to not play it (Unless you currently don't own one, which shouldn't last long).

Rating: 4.5 (It doesn't win you the game by itself, but it gives you cards that can)

It's a staple card, I'll leave it at that.
