Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Hayabusa Knight

Card Number - PSV-086

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 11.15.02

Thursday - Hayabusa Knight

Falcon Knight.  Can't they get anything right?  (Heck, I probably spelled it wrong anyways.  Go me.)

Anyways, weenie decks (Gravity Bind, anyone?) and equip decks (Axe of Despair, anyone?) will eat this guy up.  Yes, it only has 1000 attack power, but with an Axe, it is juiced up to 2000, and with two attacks per turn, that's a possible 4000 damage.  If you have another one with an Axe equipped on the field, game over.  Works well with Light of Intervention and Fairy Meteor Crush to quickly clear the field, prevent opposing Flip effects, and deal some nice damage ^_^.

Score:
This may become a personal favorite, so I'll give it a 3.5. It's a very solid card.  It may see extensive play in weenie decks.

Hayabusa Knight
Level 3
Earth
[Warrior/Effect]
1000/700
This monster can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.

This card has a lot of potential! It's not that good by itself, but with Equip Magics, this card is just insane. Here's a scenario. Clear the board, drop Hayabusa Knight, give it 3 Axe of Depairs, 8000 damage. Well, I know that it won't happen very often. You just have to give it a single Axe of Despair and it's really playable aa you can do 4000 damage a turn with it.

The MAIN problem with Hayabusa is that it's really dependant on Equips. Otherwise a Witch of the Black Forest could take it down with no problem. Basically if you run like 2-3 Axe of Despairs, you should throw in one or two copies of Hayabusas and test it out. You might really like him.

Yonex Haybasu Knight -- Thursday

Introduction: I get to attack twice! Destroy all those effect monsters!

Earth
[Warrior/Effect]
Level 3
1000/700
This monster can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.

Why should you use it?
*May attack twice
*Dangerous card with combos

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Weak ATK

Reasons: One of my favorite cards in the PSV set. This card when I read it,
I knew it was good. This card can attack twice, which has so much potential
to be abused. This means, say for example they have 2 Magician of Faiths
down, you can use one Knight to destroy 2 MoF instead of waiting 2 turns to
destroy them. Also another is killing two Goblin Attack Force in DEF. This
card can totally crush these two monsters if played right. Now, this card is
a combo card. There are so many ways to combo this card with other cards.
One is using it with Gravity Bind to try to protect your monster from dying.
Another is try attaching an Axe of Despair. Which makes this a double Dark
Elf size. Meaning if the field is open, this mosnter can attack for 4000
damage. Ouch! Another combo, can be with Robbin Goblin'. Though this card
isn't used as widely, it still works. If the field is clear, you can discard
2 cards instead of one, which doubles the fun on your opponent. Well one
reason why this wouldn't be in decks is, it has weak ATK, which makes it not
a favor in some decks. However, if played right, this card can totally clean
all other monsters.

Rating: This card, after this review (Thanks To Me), will probably be a
staple. I give this card a 3.5. It has a lot of power, even though it's weak
stats may make it not a favor.

Conclusion: I will see doubles of this everywhere.

wartortle32 Thursday - Haybaysu Knight

Today we look at Haybaysu Knight. I dont know why
Upperdeck changed it from Falcon Knight to Haybaysu,
but whatever. This card is allowed to attack twice
per battle phase.

Sure it's got a great effect, but with such a pathetic
attack, it shouldn't see much use. If you are able to
power it up with some equip magic, then you should be
able to clear some defenses rather quickly while your
other monsters do the damage to the opponent's LP.
But it probably wont last long enough to put in the
investment of powering it up.

I give this card a 2/5. In an upcoming set, we'll get
a monster with 1700 attack that can attack all
opponent's monsters. If you must go with a monster
that can do a multi-attack, wait for that one to be
released.

IQ
If this guy was a little bigger I would be all over him and would be trying to abuse him. The best I've been able to do with him is give him an Axe of Despair and bomb rush my opponent. It works amazingly well with Robin' Goblin but I think he could still be better.

The thing I don't like about him is that he's pretty much useless until you can give him the Axe of Despair unless your opponent has a couple of small Monsters in play face up. The good thing about him is the fact that your opponent will underestimate him and usually won't use a Trap Hole on him. I think this guy has potential but we'll have to wait and see.
