Tuesday - Lightforce Sword

Happy Election Day everyone! (Woo, halfway through Dubya's term!

Hmmm..... now isn't this a unique card.  We get to pick one card from the opponent's hand, and literally lock it away from them for 4 turns.  This card would be insanely broken if you could look at your opponent's hand and choose which one would be locked.  As it stands, however, it exists as nothing more than a minor roadblock to your opponent.  There is that off chance that you can lock away a game-breaking card long enough to get a victory, but it's not highly likely.  I say steer away from it for now.

Score: 2.4 (maybe you can combo it with Respect Play or The Eye of Truth, I don't know :/)

A decent enough card if you are playing hand disruption. However, since it will return to your opponent's hand on the 4th turn AND the fact that it is random AND that you will never know what that card was, makes it slightly risky. It will still mess up your opponent's plan though, so that it a really good advantage. The problem is, how the heck are you going to fit this card in your deck? We simply don't have enough space nowadays if we want to keep our deck to just 40 cards. Now if you are one of those players, I don't really think this card is for you. If you can live with a 40+ card deck, then you might want to consider it. Or maybe it's more of side deck material? It's up to you.

Yonex Lightforce Sword -- Tuesday

Introduction: Oh, your gonna play Raigeki? Oh, place that to the side for 4
turns! Eeeeevillllll.

Normal Trap
Select 1 card at random from your opponent’s hand. Keep it face-down and
place it outside of the field. During your opponent’s 4th turn, the card is
returned to his/her hand in the Standby Phase.

Why should you use it?
*Stops from using card
*Random card
*No cost

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Losing won't help

Reasons: Today we look at one of the evil card from the Pharoh Servant set.
I would basically call this The Forceful Sentry's little brother. It
basically stops your opponent from using a card, which is totally cool. So
that means that you can just do this and hurt someone that way. This card
get random, which isn't as good as Forceful Sentry, but still good. Finally
this card doesn't have a casting cost, so be glad to play this as you wish.
Well this took long and hard to figure this out, but only found that this
card won't help you when your down. Other than that, this card is pretty
good.

Rating: Not restricted in Japan, insane? Maybe..... this card has potential,
but will it cut through your opponent, or just cut through you with a more
painful death. This gets a 3.8 in my rating book. It is very good, and has a
lot of potential.

Conclusion:
Scyther (huh?): Slash this into every deck
Pikachu (......): ?????
Scyther (*grins*) **Slash** **Slash**
Pikachu has fainted

wartortle32 Tuesday - Lightforce Sword

Today we look at Lightforce sword. This card takes
away one card from the opponent's hand for 4 turns.

This is one of those "fun" cards that aren't really
all that useful. Sure, the opponent cant use that
card for 4 turns, but chances are you wont pick
anything that is worth playing this card. Why not
simply go with a card with an effect that will destroy
an opponent's card instead?

I give this card a 2.3/5. You wont pick good cards
often enough for this to be entirely useful.

Lightforce Sword

This is one of the new cards I've been dying to abuse but haven't because I know the second I make the deck Upper Deck will finally decide to update their Forbidden/Restricted list and this card is gona be one of them. >,<

I think the card is really good.. currently but once all the new hand disruption cards get restricted it won't really be that great. You can try to abuse it until then but don't be too upset when your deck is no longer playable.

Have I ever told you guys how much I love Upper Deck's way of running tournaments? >>,<<

Rating 4.2 (for now)

2.1 (After they update their restricted list)
SomeGuy Tuesday - Lightforce Sword

Normal Trap

It's not that bad of a card, but I just don't like the fact that my opponent eventually gets the removed card back. Since there is no additional cost, such as paying Life Points or discarding cards from your hand, the non-permanent part isn't too big of a problem.

Being able to kill off your opponent's hand early (Even if it's only for some period of time), can potentially disable your opponent from preventing your immediate attacks.

My main reason for disliking Lightforce Sword, is because the card removed is chosen at random. If you could have chosen the card being removed, it would of drastically improved the gameplay value of Lightforce Sword.

In my opinion, this is an average card that belongs in only a few selected decks.

Rating: 2.5/5
