Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Robbin' Goblin

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 10.14.02

Monday: Robbin' Goblin

Hey, we already reviewed this card!

This card has lost its usefulness with the three disruption cards in Magic Ruler (Confiscation, Delinquent Duo, The Forceful Sentry), as well as Mystical Space Typhoon.  I haven't seen it played in a while.  If you are playing a hand destruction deck, for the time being, you will still be safe using one of these, but with Axe of Despair, White Magical Hat turns into a beast.  Your choice.

Score: 3.1 (it's still a good card, but it's just lost its usefulness)
Yonex Robbin' Goblin -- Monday

Introduction: Bam! There goes your hand! Oh bam, I have White Magical Hat!
Discard another card! Bam! You don't have a hand!

Continuous Trap
Each time 1 of your monsters inflicts damage to your opponent's Life Points,
1 card is randomly selected from your opponent's hand and discarded to the
Graveyard.

Why should you use it?
*Card advantage
*Combo smells abusive

Why shouldn't you use it?
*No "excess" powering monster
*Easily countered

Reasons: We're looking and old card that is still good. This card if played
very correctly, can get so much card advantage. If you play it the right
way, you can burn someone's hand up, and with cards life The Forceful Sentry
and Confiscation, it can get very crazy. Also combo this card up with other
cards, like Jinzo #5 and Messenger of Peace, it will be so dangerous. This
card is one of those infamous cards, that you wonder why Upper Deck didn't
restrict. But the card may seem good, but it doesn't do that much. To be
able to successfully have card advantage you need to attack twice to
"exceed" to do damage. Though there isn't that many monsters that can
exceed, with the current gaming (just Dark Elf, and M. Chaser *online
leaguers*), but there is always using powerups, but that's another card to
add. Also with the current Magic and Traps dispruption, it is hard to find
this card to be on the field that long. Additional cards like Giant Trunade
and Cyclone* (Typhoon).

Rating: This card has been tried to be used, but I have only seen very few
to effectively use it. Though it might just be me, to countered these cards,
this card is very hard to play, and to make it be used to the fullest. This
is NOT just one of those cards to throw in your deck. I know the first time
this card was rated it got a very high rating, not this time. This card gets
a 3.5. It is a little bit above average, but isn't "4" quality yet.

Conclusion: Robbin' Goblin only follows those who are wise enough to unlock
it's true "secret"
