Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Cyber Jar

Card Number - MRL-002
Average Rating - 4.31 (based on 8 reviews)

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Things that make the world go boom are nice.  Certainly an interesting "I'm losing and I want to even the odds" card.  I can't see not playing with it.  It's there to Dark Hole, and since you only can play 1 Dark Hole, might as well go to 4 ;-).  Well, I think in the end, it will be go to 2 since I would rather suspect this will be restricted, but until then.
Rating:  4.5

Introduction: You have 5 monsters up, awwww, all I have is a Cyberjar.
Kaboom! There goes your 5 monster.

Dark
[Rock/Effect]
Lv 3
900/900
Flip: Destroy all monsters on the field (including this monster). both
players then pick up (not Draw) 5 cqrds from the top of their respective
Decks and show the cards to each other. Immediately Special Summon any
Monster Cards of Level 4 or lower among them on the field in face-up Attack
Position or face-down Defense Position. The rest of the cards picked up are
placed in the player's hand.

Why should you use it?
*Clears the field
*Gain 5 cards
*Deck your opponent

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Opponent also gains 5 cards
*Horrible 5 cards
*Raigeki kills this card

Reasons: Well any monster removal card is good. This card is supreme. You
get a Dark Hole effect. But that's not all. You gain possible special summon
of monsters plus cards in hand, which is good. This major advantage, can
also make your opponent "deck" or run out of cards. Since your burning 5 of
their cards. Now the downside of this card. Your opponent also gains cards,
which can kill you. You can also draw a horrible hand of 5 which will hurt
you very badly. Finally, if they can pull off a Raigeki in their hand n'
activate this card before enter the Battle Phase, you can be dead.

Rating: This card is a must use in every deck. I have tried this in real
life, this card is supreme. You should get it. I would give this card a 4.5.
I think that's not too high because if Dark Hole gets a very high rating,
this card should also. Plus with the 5 card thing, it can make this card
even more abusive. One thing stoping this card is the word restrictions. In
Japan, this card is restricted to 1 ( i wonder why), and in english will
probably too.

Conclusion: You must use this card!

This card is going to be restricted for a reason...

It's basically a Dark Hole and Ultimate Offering with some card drawing thrown in. All in one card. So what if it's for both players, if it was just for yourself then it would be completely insane.

What makes the card even better, is that you can set the monsters in face-down Defense Position. This enables it to work nicely with Magician of Faith, Man-Eater Bug, and others.

wartortle32 Wednesday - Cyber Jar

Today's card is cyber pod.  This card will undoubtably be restricted as it is already restricted to 1 in Japan.  The effect destroys all monsters on the field, then each player takes the top 5 cards from their deck and summons any level 4 or below monster to the field in any mode they wish.

First off, this card is a mass monster removal card and is basically a smaller version of dark hole, which is already a good enough reason to be restricted. Secondly I've been told be Edo that card you look at that are not level 4 or below stay in your hand.  that already is a great reason to play this card since you can draw 5 cards basically for free.  Unfortunately, the opponent also has the same effect, so it evens out.

What's great about this card is that it can really turn the tide of a duel.  If your opponent has a bunch of strong high level monsters, slap this sucker down and you can clear the field of those high level monsters and replace them with punier weaker monsters.

I give this card a 4.1/5.  Every deck should have one as it works great at monster removal.

Cyber Jar
Type: Effect Monster
Dark/Rock/3/900/900
Effect: Reverse: Destroy all monsters on the Field. Each player looks at the top 5 cards of his or her deck. If any of those cards are level 4 or less monster cards, they are placed on the Field in mode of his or her choice.

Hmm a good card? or a card that can seriously screw you over? I actually think its a great card. Put this card face down when your opponent gets a change of heart back from the graveyard and trick them into a trap. Killing off everything and looking at the top 5 cards and playing all monsters level 4 or less. Your opponent gets to do it too so thats also where your opponent can get an advantage over you. But this card will definitely be seen every where. Its flip effect is insanely powerful in my opinion. But the worse scenario will be you looking at the top 5 cards and they are all magic and trap cards >_< but that can happen to your opponent to so hey its a gamble but it does clear the field of any set/face up monsters on the field. Good effect monster

Triple X Wednesday - Cyber Jar:

[Rock/Effect]
FLIP: Destroy all monsters on the field (including this monster). both players then pick up (not Draw) 5 cards from the top of their respective Decks and show the cards to each other. Immediately Special Summon any Monster Cards of Level 4 or lower among them on the field in face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position. You can tell that this card is going to be restricted. This card is another Raigeki which destroys all monsters on field. Any card that lets you play more monsters on the field is great. What makes this card good is you get to pick what position the cards are placed. Another good thing is being able to put the rest of the cards in your hand instead of discarding them. This card would own in a fast beatdown deck with only having level 4 or lower monsters. This is a solid card overall. The one disadvantage is it lets your opponent get the effect also. This card ownz o_0 Woooooooooo!!!!!1

This card is really fun.  It can also reward you for interesting and creative deck building.  The only down side is that it isn't a very large monster.  It's only a 900/900.

It's ability is VERY good though.  If nothing else, you can use it to simply get something that just too scary on your opponent side out of the way.  Then you are just roling the dice as to what's on top of each of your decks.

It's good stuff all around.

We're at the halfway mark of our first week of Magic Ruler, and we stumble across a Japanese staple card, Cyber Jar.

Card Text:
Dark/Rock/3/900/900
Effect: FLIP: Destroy all monsters on the field (including this monster). both players then pick up (not Draw) 5 cards from the top of their respective Decks and show the cards to each other. Immediately Special Summon any Monster Cards of Level 4 or lower among them on the field in face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position. The rest of the cards picked up are placed in the player's hand.

Analysis:
Wow, now this is a really long effect!  (Relinquished, which we will review in October, currently has the longest English effect.)  They translated all of the extended rulings for Cyber Jar, which means this card is more accurate and precise than the Japanese version.  Konami did something right with the translation for once =P  (Come to think of it, they did Relinqushed correctly too, I think.)

This is a really fun card to use.

Its effect is basically a Dark Hole, destroying all monsters on the field.  (This is enough to restrict it to 1 in Japan.)  Not only that, but both players pick up the top 5 cards of their deck, summon all Level 1-4 monsters, and the rest go to your hand.  You can create some really favorable situations with this card.  If you have a Raigeki and Heavy Storm in your hand, for example, then flip summon this card, you can literally win the game if you get enough strong monsters from Cyber Jar.

This effect also allows you to get more monsters out for your really heavy hitters to Tribute for, like Summoned Skull, Barrel Dragon, and Blue-Eyes White Dragon.  Your opponent can do the same, but if you play it correctly, they are toast.

You can also put down a lot of effect monsters, too.  Your opponent will know it's coming (since you have to show them the cards), but that could actually work to your advantage, as they may not attack, for fear of activating a flip effect.  Just keep a Magic Jammer or two handy and it's all gravy.

It also counters Exodia.  Force them to play at least 1 Exodia part on the field, and it's game over unless they use Hane-Hane or can somehow get you with the really obscure Penguin Knight (if you discard it from your opponent's deck, they shuffle their graveyard into their deck).

I assure you, this card will be restricted to 1 per deck when the new English rulings are released.  If not, expect heads to roll =P

Should YOU play it?
If you can get your hands on one (it's only a Normal Rare), play it, unless you are running Exodia.

Score:
Cyber Jar gets a 4.3.  Unlike Axe of Despair, however, this card is a definite deck staple for almost any deck (for the third time, don't use this with an Exodia deck).  It will be restricted to 1, so you only need to get 1 of them.
