Grave and hand are about the same when making someone drop a card.  If it goes grave, they can use things to get it back.  If it goes hand, they can just top deck it.  Unlike confiscation, though, this one doesn't slap you round for 1,000.

As stated yesterday, disruption is an important theme in CCGs, and this is no exception.  If you can turn it into a game of top-decking, there is often a chance you can win because you can prepare for it better than they can.

The Forceful Sentry -- Friday

Introduction: You have a Exodia, back to your deck, back to your deck!

Normal Magic
Look at your opponent's hand, then select 1 card and return it to his/her
Deck. The Deck is then shuffled.

Why should you use it?
*Get rid of those nasty cards!
*Card advantage

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Waste of space?

Reasons: Well Confinscations little sister, the forceful sentry. This card
is a bit weaker, since it shuffles the card into their deck instead of
sending it into the graveyard. Still it's almost the same as yesterday. It
get rid of those cards and gives you a bit of card advantage. Well no reason
not to use this card, it won't cost you anything to play it, so use it.
Waste of space? Maybe not, if drawn at crucucial points, it can really hurt
your opponent. Not much else to say about this card.

Rating: This is another candiate for the staple, but might be left out on
some decks. But still very good. This card from Japanese restrictions is
also restricted (it figures). This card is good, but in my humble opinion
Confiscation is better than this, because it sends to the graveyard, instead
of to the library. Still a good card. A 3.1 would be a good rating for this
card.

Conclusion: Go to your local hardware store and go buy a staple gun because
we have more staples to put up.

wartortle32 Friday - The Forceful Sentry

Yesterday we looked at Confiscate.  Today we look at a
similar version of the card, The Forceful Sentry.
This allows you to look at the opponent's hand and
choose 1 card to be shuffled back into the deck.

In my opinion, this card is better than confiscate in
every way.  First off, you dont have to pay the 1000
LP.  Secondly, it is much harder for the opponent to
get back whatever card you shuffled into his deck than
to retrieve it from the graveyard.  Think about this.
Let's say use The Forceful Sentry and you find a
raigeki in their hand, so you choose that card to be
shuffled into their deck.  Now the only way he can get
it back is by redrawing the raigeki.  But let's see
what happens if you use confiscate instead.  If you
use confiscate and destroy the raigeki instead, the
opponent can easily retrieve it back through magician
of faith.  And since he can have up to 3 magicians in
the deck, the chances of getting a magician are much
better than him having to draw raigeki out of his
deck.

I gave the confiscate a 3.5 yesterday, and this is a
bit better so I give this card a 3.9/5.

The Forceful Sentry
Type: Magic
Effect: Look at your opponent's hand and choose 1 card there.
Your opponent shuffles that card into his or her deck.

Not as good as Confiscation but it still gets the job done. Theres no set back on life points with this hand disruption card. You pay no life points but the card doesn't get destroyed it just goes back into your opponents deck. This can be a staple card but confiscation goes into your deck before this does. Because shuffling it back just means its gonna come back and kick your butt later on in the game. But this card still gets a high rating because with all the limit 1 cards in decks, If you hit your opponent with this at the right time. You can get the advantage over him/her. I'm loving magic ruler already. Lots of changes are gonna happen in the tournament scene.

This card doesn't really have a down side.  You can go right into your opponents hand and make him shuffle the card back into his deck.  This is especially good if you are putting a restricted card back into his deck.

I could see playing two of these in a deck.  Very good, very useable.

MRL-045
The Forceful Sentry
Normal Magic

I really like this card. It slims down your opponent's hand without any drawback. Even though it doesn't discard, I still like it a little bit better than Confiscation. Just my opinion though...

In Japan it's restricted to one. I believe the same will happen here in the US. Or atleast, I hope it's restricted. If not, three of these will be in most competetive decks.

The main problem with The Forceful Sentry is that all it does versus Exodia is stall for some time. But even that can be helpful at times.
