Fairy Box

Probably one of the most annoying cards to be up against, if you are playing Beatdown. If your opponent has something in Attack Mode, even if it's a Magician of Faith, it can still kill off your Summoned Skull, Bazoo, Kycoo, Goblin Attack Force, Gemini Elf, etc. Paying 500LP a turn is not too bad, especially if you can get 2 Solemn Wishes and an Imperial Order out with it. It's a good defensive weapon, but it's also good offensively. Unless your opponent likes to take risks, he won't use his Goblin Attack Force to attack your Gemini Elf at the risk of losing his GAF AND taking 1900 damage. The only flaw to this card, is the coin flip (and the cost).

Rating: 4/5
wartortle32 Fairy Box

This card lets you flip a coin when the opponent attacks. If you call it correctly, the attack of the monster is reduced to 0 for the turn. it also requires an upkeep of 500 LP per turn.

Like most gambling cards, I don't really like it. I don't really like taking chances with my cards. But if you like to gamble, this card is for you. If you win the toss, then you'll probably cause massive damage to the opponent or you'll protect yourself from a direct attack. In any case, this isn't too bad of a card as it can save your LP for awhile plus the cost isn't that expensive.

I give this card a 3/5. Combo with something like Solemn Wishes and you can keep this thing out for free.
NickWhiz1 Tuesday - Fairy Box

Sorry for not reviewing Fire Princess or Tornado Wall, everyone. Worldwide Edition has been taking up all my time ~_~ Anyways, today's card is one of my personal favorites, and there's a good reason for it.

This card will definitely make your opponent think twice about attacking. Being able to tack on a Gate Guardian piece effect to ANY monster you have on the field is a big plus, and it can also literally block direct attacks!

(For reference, this card does NOT work like Waboku. Waboku reduces battle damage to 0, whereas Fairy Box reduces the attack to 0, exactly like Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin, and Suijin.)

Of course, this would be extremely broken by itself, so they had to add on two restrictions. You must flip a coin to see if the effect works, and you must pay 500 LP per turn to keep it on the field. So basically, your opponent has a 50/50 chance of getting an attack through. Not bad. It's always fun to watch someone ram a Gemini or Bazoo into a face-up Magician of Faith, just to watch Fairy Box do its stuff =/ Try it with Masked Sorcerer and White Magical Hat =/

Score: 4.0 (OK, I'm rating it VERY high because it's one of my favorite cards. If it wasn't, I'd give it about a 3.5 =/)
SomeGuy Tuesday - Fairy Box

"Each time a monster on your opponent's side of the field attacks, toss a coin and call Heads or Tails. If you call it right, the attacking monster's ATK become 0 only during the Battle Phase. Pay 500 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you cannot, this card is destroyed."

Fairy Box is one of the coolest cards in the set. It's not necessarily very good, but it can work extremely well if the flips go your way. 500 Life Points is a small price to pay to keep the card onto the Field. Especially if you have Masked Sorcerer or White Magical Hat on the Field.

Both of these Monsters state that whenever they deal damage to your opponent, you'll get their Effect. If you call right on Fairy Box, you will effectively reduce your opponent's Monster to 0 ATK. Thus forcing them to attack your White Magical Hat/Masked Sorcerer which in turn either kills them and does damage if the White Magical Hat/Masked Sorcerer is in ATK mode. Or it just deals straight damage to them if the White Magical Hat/Masked Sorcerer is in DEF mode. Regardless of the position it's in, you'll still be dealing damage to your opponent's Life Points which in turn activates the Effect. Not bad.

But the matter of the fact is that it's a flip. And if you once played Pokemon you know that too many flips can cause havoc for both players.

And since it's a Continuous Trap, the basic Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, ect. can all deal with it.

Rating: 3.2/5

If you really want to annoy your opponent, Fairy Box is THE card to use. Just be careful because it may backfire and cause you more pain than your opponent.
Lady Poet Today's CotD is Fairy Box, an interesting yet useful C. Trap card. This is probably the easiest way to have a Magician of Faith kill a Blue Eyes in one hit ;). However, it's one of those nasty coin-flip-luck-card thingies. If you hate that as much as I do most of most of the time. Another major aspect about Fairy Box is the fact of it's cost. It's 500 per turn, and with it slowly draining your Life Points down while you keep TRYING to get Heads or Tails isn't a pretty picture. IMO, I think this is best late game and while you're losing (but still have enough to play the cost).

Tourney/Competitive: 3.0
Casual Rating: 4.0
