Monster Reborn
Select 1 Monster Card from either your opponent's or your own graveyard and place it on the field under your control in attack or defense position (face up). This is considered a Special Summon.
Normal Magic
Card Number LOB-118/SDK-036/SDY-030/SDP-035/SDJ-035
Ultra Rare (LOB) / Common (everything else)
Upsides:
Free monster
No drawbacks
Easily found (1 set and 4 starters decks have it)
Special Summon
Down Sides:
Not a quick-play
Restricted
Ultra rare in LOB
Can only bring monsters to the field face-up
Combos:
Graceful Charity, Painful Choice, Card Destruction, Cheerful Coffin, Mirage of Nightmare, etc...: Dump a big monster, then reborn it with Monster Reborn.
Magician of Faith: Get Monster Reborn back and used it again.
Torrential Tribute: Monster Reborn your Sangan or Witch, then open up the field for a big hit with Torrential Tribute.
In Casual, this card should be in any deck you build unless you can’t find
it (That should not be the case). This card revolutionized the game from the beginning. It is among the Yu-Gi-Oh Elite and may be the best of the bunch. Definitely something you want to play.
In Tourney, read the above. I don’t know any kind of deck that you could build that could be a tourney contender and do without Monster Reborn. It has no drawbacks and is basically a free monster. What’s not to love?
In Sealed, this is in every starter deck, so you should have no trouble playing it, or finding it, in fact. If you don’t play it and win, I feel the Apocalypse will soon be upon us, but that’s just me. Great card nonetheless.
Overall, I feel it’s a 4.95/5 (9.9/10 if you want to look at it that way)

Monster Reborn
Well, this is review week folks. Sorry that I haven't been doing the COTD's. I had an eventful thanksgiving, so that took the place of my COTD's. Anyways
I'm back and I come back on basically a review week. Is monster reborn still a worthy card? Of course it is. It's still a staple. Nothing has changed since its debut in March of 2002. I mean what is there really to say about Monster Reborn. Its a free special summon. You can use things like Graceful Charity, and get rid of Jinzo, and than just Reborn it in the same turn. Reborn probably gets better with each set that passes through our hands, because there are more monsters to reborn with cool effects. So yea, there isn't much to say about Reborn. It still changes a game for the player that uses it, nothing more, nothing less.
Tourney Play: 4.3/5 This card changes the game, even if only for a turn. It gives you a free monster from your
opponents or your graveyard.
Casual Play: 4.3/5 Every deck should really have this, Although there are always exceptions.
Limited Play: 5/5 wow, here its just amazing. I mean, reborn that BEWD or DM that you were lucky enough to draft. Hah, yea...nuff said |
