Rounding out this holiday week is a card I think will see some play in the tournament scene - Great Demon Gazetto or “Great Maju Garzett” =\. It’s pretty simple:
Pros:
+Attack can become EXTREMELY high, I.e. tributing a Jinzo for this guy means a 4800 Attacker, etc. o_O
+Is only a one tribute, so unlike it’s counterpart ‘Maju Garzett’, this card is actually playable even if you have just a witch or sangan out.
+This card is SO good against beatdown decks, I.e. taking their goblin/Gemini and using it as a tribute to bring out a powerful Monster that they now must worry about.
Cons:
-If you DON’T tribute summon this card (I.e. you use recursion on it) it stays at 0/0 and is a pointless monster out on the field with power equal to that of a scapegoat token. >_<
Combos:
*Tribute a Zolga for Great Demon Gazetto, and you gain 2000 LP and have a 3400 Tribute Mon out of the process. Nice if you ask me.
*Tribute a witch or sangan for this to get a 2000 or 2200 ATK mon and still get the search effects.
Basically, this is a disaster waiting to happen - for your opponent, that is.
Any monster on the field has the ability to be sacrificed and replaced by a monster with twice the attack. Just thinking about that gives me chills. Obviously, stealing an opponent’s Jinzo or Vampire Lord with change of heart or snatch steal, and then tributing it for this card would mean a 4000+ attacker AND the loss of their monster. Sounds GREAT to me.
I’ve seen this card win games IMMEDIATELY. Offering a Jinzo for Great Maju Garzett and then special summoning an Injection Fairy Lily just simply spells G-A-M-E. Not that I like beatdown, but this card can ruin decks instantly.
Many decks rely on Life Point punishing cards such as Confiscation or Delinquent Duo, or even Magical Scientist. This means that the surprise impact this card has is even more effective, since your opponent not only can’t see it coming, but has no way to gain back life quickly enough when hit by a Gazetto.
I don’t know if this will make it into every deck, but it certainly has a guaranteed spot in my sideboard, as I can see this card completely ruining other strategies. And if you happen to get one in limited, btw, you’ve just WON THE TOURNAMENT.
Ratings:
Constructed - 3.8/5
Limited - 5/5 BROKEN.
Alright, hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! |
